Remove fan d865perl

It depends. You usually must replace the entire heatsink/fan assembly. If you have the standard 'Intel' heatsink/fan that came with a retail boxed Intel processor, you flip the levers in opposite directions to loosen the assembly, and then you slip a thin piece of metal under each of the four hooks that attach it to the mobo, but you do them one at a time. You just pry a little bit and lift up on each one. After the last hook is freed, you pull the unit completely off the board.

There's also a power connector. Don't forget to unplug it. There are at least 100 different styles of HSF for that mobo. You also want to twist a little to work the thermal-transfer compound loose. Otherwise you might pull the processor out with the HSF.

Processor fan wont work.

Hi tenfive64,

Try another fan in the cpu power slot, to see if there is no power getting to that source. If the fan turns on, well! Something ain't right with the fan. If it doen't then you'll need a power extension connector to reach for another fan power source on the board. DON'T hook it up to a non-fan power source, you will fry the fan, if not the board.

Good Luck,

Mark

Hp pavilion 764c wire diagrams

Take a picture of the inside of your computer and put it up on the website with the wire connectors that need to be connected. The connecting wires should be in four groups. 1. The power supply connectors. These connectors will supply power to to all the power using components not supplied power by the motherboard itself. 2 The connections to the other components in your system like the dvd/cd player and the harddrive and floppy drive.3. The motherboard connections for the case. The power switch connector andreset switchconnector. The power led and theharddrive activity light. The USB connector and the audio connector. The fan connections like the cpu fan and other fan only connectors found on the motherboard. The external fans ( Fans that need to be connected to the power supply). Most of these connections are labeled on the motherboard. The case connectors also should be labeled for the correct connection. The best way to find the answers to this hook-up, may be to call HP pavilion with your computer make and model number, motherboard model number including revisions number. Computer made by big manufacturers tend to have may revisions and the only way to make sure your are getting a correct hook-up to the motherboard is call them for assistance.Especially if the motherboard and case labels are not present or so small that they cannot be read.Hope this helps you with your problem.

I/O is Input/Output, are all fans and power cable hooked up correctly, try rechecking every connection, the fan header 3 pin is at the top to the left of the 1st RAM slot near the edge of the board, also make sure you have the IDE, cables connected correctly with the drives jumpered directly

Fan not found

Yes the fan was spinning. I found a soulution though. The right connecter did not fit the motherboard so someone rigged it to run but the motherboard did not see it because it was hooked straight to the atx power supply. I just broke the plastic off of where the original fan was plugged in and with the pins still intact I pushed the replacement fan connector down on it and the motherboard found the fan. Sweet Success!!!!

HP Vectra has no fan hook up!

Most fans are either 5v or 12v and have a hook up on the motherboard. If not the fan should have a + and a - side (normaly red is + and black is - ). If push comes to shove use the same voltage lines off a hard drive power connector on the power supply if the motherboard doesn;t have the connector built in.
