Question about Fuji FinePix F470 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I can't view my pictures or zoom out. The controls seem to be unreliable or non-functioning. But I can still take pictures and subsequently download them onto my computer. Do the internal contacts on some of the controls need cleaning?

Read the post about F470/F460 keypad failure on my tips page of my profile under "The only way I know how". This is a common problem for this model.

Zoom pictures lower than what see in viewfinder

That's normal...it's called parallax error because the view finder is not in the same plane as the lens. Why don't you use the LCD screen to compose your shots?

Why did my picture become big so I can not see the sideline information

Press the RATIO button repeatedly to select the desired picture format. You can also adjust Aspect Ratio in the OPTION menu.
  1. Set By Program. Selects the proper picture proportion to match the source’s image. (4:3 → 4:3, 16:9 → 16:9)
  2. 4:3. Choose 4:3 when you want to view a picture with an original 4:3 aspect ratio, with gray bars appearing at both the left and right sides.
  3. 16:9. Choose 16:9 when you want to adjust the picture horizontally, in a linear proportion to fill the entire screen.
  4. Horizon. Choose Horizon when you want to adjust the picture in a non-linear proportion, that is, more enlarged at both sides, to create a panorama view.
  5. Zoom 1. Choose Zoom 1 when you want to view the picture without any alteration. However, the top and bottom portions of the picture will be cropped.
  6. Zoom 2. Choose Zoom 2 when you want the picture to be altered, both horizontally extended and vertically cropped. The picture taking a halfway trade off between alteration and screen coverage.
  7. Cinema Zoom. Choose Cinema Zoom when you want to enlarge the picture in correct proportion. Note: When enlarging or reducing the picture, the image may become distorted. You can adjust the enlarge proportion of Cinema Zoom using D / E button. The adjustment range is 1~16.

Webcam Tools Don't Work

I apologize ahead of time for using all capital letters at times in my response, I use the all caps as a reminder only (not as condescending emphasis). If this response is difficult to understand, please let me know and we can hammer this thing out. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate -- I really enjoy helping...

The solution to your problem is this:

* You are talking about the little 'camera' icon on the taskbar (indicating that it is currently running.)

A) That application you see on the taskbar is ONLY the motor and picture quality/zoom control application, not the actual viewing application itself.

B) So, when you open up a viewer (application that "captures" video), the controller application (the app that opened up for only a brief moment) will AUTOMATICALLY POP ITSELF UP ON YOUR SCREEN and is then ready for manual and auto tracking.

* The way that you would use your tracking and zoom functions through this control is by using VIRTUALLY ANY video capture device program.

** The most popular and widely used application that comes with most GearHead Webcams is "AMcap.EXE".

*** Goto Start, Programs, USB2.0 Motor.... -> and select AMcap. (or any other NON-:LOGITECH video capture software) ==> NON-LOGITECH NOTE: logitech software only works with logitech hardware.

**** BE SURE TO SELECT YOUR MOTION TRACKING CAM IN THE INPUT DEVICES MENU WITHIN ANY APPLICATION YOU DECIDE TO USE.

How to achieve full zoom with a Nikon 55-200mmf/4-5.6G ED lens?!

1) What camera body are you using?

2) I do not understand your assertion that it automatically zoomed in. Zooming is a manual function. The automatic functions of your lens pertain only to focusing on of the subject so that your picture is sharp and ensuring that the correct amount of light is admitted so that you have a correct exposure.

3) Are you sure you were turning the zoom ring and not the f-stop ring? The zoom ring is labeled 200 on one end of the scale and 55 on the other. It is also the widest ring on the lens barrel. When you rotate it, the physical length of the lens will lengthen as you rotate it clockwise (viewed from behind the camera) and shorten as you rotate it counter-clockwise.

4) For reference, at 200mm the angle of view on your lens should be 10 degrees and at 55mm about 40 degrees.

Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.
