10 second delay timer not in shooting mode menu

Shooting mode menu shows 2 second self-timer, but not 10 second. I previously saw and used 10 second delay. How can I recover this feature?

Select Custom Settings, then Self-Timer. You can set the time delay there.

How do I set the self timer on my cannon a560 camera?

Press the self-timer button to cycle through self-timer settings. The rectangle indicates normal shooting, the clock indicates self-timer. Depending on the shooting mode, you may also see overlapped rectangles for continuous shooting.

To change the delay time, select [Self-timer] from the Recording menu.

The self-timer button is the same as the down-arrow on the circular multi-selector, marked with a clock.

How do I use self-timer

Press the Shooting Mode button (just to the left of the viewfinder, marked with overlapping rectangles) and rotate the command dial until the self-timer icon (sort of like a one-handed clock) is displayed in the control panel.

Frame the photograph and focus.

For best results, cover the viewfinder.

Press the shutter release button all the way down to start the self-timer.

You can cancel the self-timer by selecting another shooting mode, or by turning off the camera.

Custom Settings #24 lets you change the delay to 2, 5, 10, or 20 seconds.

In the shooting mode, press the Func/Set button. Scroll down the icons to the 'drive mode' icon (a square). Then scroll right to the icon showing a circled 2 (2 second delay) or a circled 10 (10 second delay). Press the Func/Set button to select.

To return to normal, use the same procedure, but select the square icon (single shot).

How do i set the self timer on a canon sd850 is?

With the camera in the shooting mode, press the bottom of the multicontroller. You should see a set of icons displayed vertically on your LCD, with a square at the top and a couple of circles with a 2 and a 10. Press the bottom of the controller again to highlight either the circle with the 2 (2 second delay) or the circle with the 10 (10 second delay). Press the Set button to select. To return to normal shooting mode, repeat the process but select the square at the top.

EOS 30D is slow to fire.

Are you sure you aren't in the delay setting in drive mode? This camera has 2 delay settings, one for 2 seconds between when you press the shutter and when it takes the photo, and one with 10 seconds delay - often used when you want to be in the photo (e.g. self-portrait or group photo).

If you aren't in the delay mode, then I need to know more about your settings. What shooting mode are you using? What type of photo are you trying to take (portrait, landscape, sports)? Are you shooting indoors, outdoors, bright sunlight, overcast, etc.?

I wanna take a picture but i dont know how to make the camara wait 10 sec before it takes the picture

Hi,

Self-timer shooting:

This function lets you take pictures using the self-timer.
Fix the camera securely on a tripod for self-timer shooting. This function is useful for taking
pictures when you want to be included in the photograph.

1 Select [ON], and press Z.
2 Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway
locks the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately
2 seconds, the picture is taken.
• To stop shooting while in n mode,
press the shutter button fully again.
• To cancel the self-timer, press Z.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.

Note:
• If sequential shooting is attempted in self-timer mode, the camera shoots 5
frames at most regardless of the setting.

Hope my info fixes your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
cheers.

Delay timer

You can download the manuals for the PowerShot SD600 here.

To use the self timer feature, you need to set it up in the menu first.

1. Press the Menu button. If not in the shooting menu (silhouette of a camera), use the left or right arrow to get there.
2. Use the down arrow to select Self Timer.
3. Use the right arrow to select the clockface with a 2 or a 10 (2 second or 10 second delay).
4. Press the Func./Set button.
5. Press the Menu button to exit.

Once set up, you can activate it by pressing on the down arrow. You should see an icon change from a rectangle to a clockface at the top center of the LCD when the self timer mode is selected. Press the down button again to cancel the self timer mode.
