1. Lift the flap open with your finger. (make sure there is a tape inside)
2. Get a pencil with an eraser and use the eraser end to help the tape move up with leverage. apply firm but steady pressure.
3. press eject button while maintaining upward pressure with pencil rubbery end and with luck the tape should lift out.

Tape Stuck

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit. Remove the top cover to see the tape and get at it. Remove it there using plastic tools, not metal.

A cassette has jammed inside my vcr machine. It will not move forward or backward Can yoy please help

Hello,

Since the tape won't come out then it means you will have to manually remove the stuck tape. This involves you disassembling the unit in order to help/assist the player get the stuck tape out.

Turn of the unit and remove from the wall, get a Philip screw driver, use it to remove all the screws from the unit and take it apart.

Open the cover and you will see the stuck tape and what's hooking or preventing it from coming out/ejecting.

Now plug the unit, and turn it on. Press the eject button, as the tape tries to come out, support it with your hand so that it can come out.

Or if it happen that the cassette tape has coiled inside the unit, carefully free the coiled tape and the press the eject button.

Lastly, the moment you disassemble the player, you would see what's preventing it from coming out, then you can free whatsoever that is making it stuck press the eject button and the tape should come out.

Make sure the unit is turned off each time you want to remove what's making the cassette stuck.

I hope understand the above explanations.

Good luck.

VCR Won't Eject VHS Tape

Do not panic yet! Before doing anything else just unplug the unit for a time. On two different occasions I unplugged my TV/VCR combo, it reset itself and I could eject the tape. I do not know how much time is really necessary as I let mine sit overnite in those two instances.

So after much frustration the first time a tape stuck which included carefully opening the chassis to look for a twisted tape, sticky labels or loose parts in and around the metal cassette holder plates, I put it back together. Now I just unplug to reset.

I am not saying this will work in every instance, but give it a try first.

VCR tape stuck

Yes, it is a mechanical problem. While the tape is in fast forward the gears are engaged and locked to provide drive to the spindel on the right, however when you press the rewind button without hitting stop, the gears try to engage the spindel on the left without stoping and reversing (changing rotational positioning), this causes the motor to stop (this emulates a tape jam)the tope is left in and the unload mechanism never spools the tape back in because the motor has stopped. To free the tape, what I do is open up the unit and find the main motor check to see if the belt has slipped, if it has not try to manually spin the motor to engage the unload mechanism and eject the tape.
