Kenmore model 105.53534300 side by side refridgerator not cooling

Similar to the Rene problem, we smelled plastic burning. The unit is 3 years old. The freezer is at 33 degrees now and the refrigerator side is at 45 degrees. The coils were cleaned about 3 months ago. I cleaned them tonight with no change in operation. They were not too bad. The compressor is running as is the fan. Don't know where the start relay exactly located on this unit. Can you help?
Thank you.

Bingo! I replaced the start relay, (believe it or not Sears doesn't stock the parts at their "Parts" store anymore), and the fridge is working fine. Thank you for your help. It was an easy change out. Got the relay at All Appliance Parts in Pgh., Pa for $45.00.

I think the problem is that your coil is touching the plastic material thats y the burning smell is coming. you should manage to set the coil perfectly at its original location. Then it will work Fine.

Relays are located on the left side of the compressor. How long ago did you smell the burning smell? Are you 100% sure the compressor is running? If it is, nothing is wrong with the relays. Although sometimes it is hard to tell if the compressor is running. By morning temps will be higher than tonight if compressor isnt running. If it isnt running, relays must be changed. I will post shortly on how to change the relays.

The relays are mounted on the left side of the compressor. You need to find an "Appliance Parts Store" and buy an "RO-41". (this is a relay) it cost no more than 10 bucks. Go home with you new bought relay and pull your refrigerator out from the wall. Don't forget to unplug it! Take off the rectangle card board cover off the bottom of the refrigerator "in back"... More than likely 1/4 nut driver. Now look for the compressor--"The Roundish black thing the size of a basketball". Next, you will see a box looking thing (black, white) mounted on the side of the compressor with 2 wires going to it. Next take it off the side of the compressor. It just pulls straight off! Sometime though it may be held in place by a little clip. Now read the instructions with the RO-41(inside cover). You will end up cutting the old relays off. Take the two wires that went to it and wire them into the relay(follow the instructions w/relay) then other wires on relay plug right into the compressor! AND THATS IT! It sounds hard but aint... goodluck!!!

As per the posted solution from cluepatel...Thats 1 in 10,000 chance of it being the problem....

I am 99.99% sure relays are out...

Also as per posted solution from cluepatel; dont go moving or bending the coils. They will breal easy causing the freon to escape and completly ruin your refrigerator. If your lucky you should be able to find relays at a parts store monday before x-mas...

Cracking sounds from top of refrigerator compartment of a 7 year old WSE6070WA

Had the problem in a similar fridge - the repair person said the noise was most likely the sound of ice build up being removed during defrost cycle and not to worry. Suggest you check the freezer temperature is not too cold and building up excess ice.

Not keeping cold temperature and can smell plastic from heat

Sounds like the condenser fan motor is either jammed or has failed. if you wil pull the refrig from the wall and remove the lower compartment cover you will see the fan I'm reffering to as well as the condenser coil and compressor. if the fan has failed you can put a house fan blowing into this compartment to keep the unit operational until you can get it repaired. thanks for using FixYa Peyton

Burning plastic smell INSIDE refrigerator

look for a door/light switch, and depress it do the lights go out?? bad switch will keep the lights on and melt plastic lens covers.. could also be nothing and you happened to open open the door right as a defrost cycle was completing( there is a heating elemnt in your freezer) watch your dairy, ice cream nad milk are real good indicators of refrigeration issues. as far as runnig all the time no real" time limit" as to how long it should be running.
