My dell compaq has no sound at all it is optiplex GX270

If you GX260 does not have sound ether the problem is with your speakers or the computer.

To test this I would try connecting head phones to the speaker output on the back on the computer to see if you have sound.

Another thing I would do is download the most current sound drivers from to see if this fixes your problem.

If you still have trouble leet me know the version of Windows you have and the make and model of your speakers.

Are the speakers connected? Or perhaps it's an activation issue. Try looking in control panel, hardware and sound, then sound, and make sure your speakers are activated and your computer is feeding audio to them! =]

This is the driver page for the GX270 over at Dell, go to the Network tab (after selecting your OS) and should need the Intel Network Driver listed there.

If you have any problems please post under this thread so I can further assist you.
