Need software FOR MY USING WINDOWS WINDOWS 7?

Hi
I presume you are referring to the disk for an mp3 player as in the question category being for Windows XP and you are using Windows 7 on the computer you want the player on. Generally the easiest way to do this is go to the author', publisher's website and get an updated version of the software that will run on Win 7.
Alternatively you could try running the software installer and subsequently the software itself under Windows compatibility for XP. Right click on the files and select and click on "troubleshoot compatibility" and follow instructions.
A second option is to create a Virtual Machne within Win7 and run Windows XP on this machine which will behave exactly as Win XP. This a complex procedure and you need to have a valid copy of XP as well as your Win7.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

CANNOT PLAY BICYCLE PINOCHLE SINCE UPDATING COMPUTER PLAYED BICYCLE PINOCHLE ON WINDOWS 98, CANNOT PLAY ON WINDOWS 7

Unfortunately, due to changes in the OS and how programs run, a program written for Windows 98 will not run under Windows 7 directly.

Even the compatibility mode will probably not work unless your version of Bicycle Pinochle for Windows was written for XP as well as Windows 98. (The WinXP version would possibly run under the Windows 7 32-bit version; it won't work under the 64-bit OS. To find your version of Windows 7, click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the version title ends with x64, you have the 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit version.)

You need to either upgrade your game software or get an older version of Windows running somehow. This could be a virtual computer (runs inside your Windows 7 computer if your hardware permits it), a second machine or a dual boot computer. For Windows 98, you will need a licensed version of the OS for any method. Check a nearby Windows User's Group to see if anyone there has the OS.

If your version of Pinochle could run under Windows XP and you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate (or upgrade to them), you can run a virtual version of XP for free. In this case, download and install (in order) Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Then install the software in the XP computer as if it were the only computer running. (The compatibility mode didn't work inside XP mode for software written for Windows 2K so I doubt a Win98 program will work.)

An XP version of Bicycle Pinochle was offered by Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/games/bicycle/card/ . A Windows 7 version of Single Deck Pinochle is here: http://www.sac-irca.com/pino.html .

I wish that I had better news for you.

The installation says that is not compatible with my windows 7

The software is very old, so old that it doesn't run any compatibility modes for windows 7. You need to either run it on windows xp, or use something like virtual box to run it through xp.

Do I need Windows XP Mode?
Windows 7 has several built-in tools to help with program compatibility and Windows XP programs should be installed directly on Windows 7. Windows XP Mode runs many older Windows XP productivity programs and that are not natively compatible with Windows 7, thus helping realize cost savings and reduce possible operational downtime by extending the life of existing software. Visit the Windows 7 Compatibility Center to find software that works with Windows 7.

It's the best of both worlds: The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop.

Designed primarily with small- and medium-sized businesses in mind, Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. Windows XP Mode also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website.

How can I use my Cakewalk plasma 2003 software om my new windows 7 computer?

As you know Plasma runs on Windows 98/Me/2000/XP. I don't have any specific knowledge of Plasma 2003 but if it needs specific drivers you are probably screwed since there is no Vista support listed.
Win7 has the capability of running XP Virtual machine (available on Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate, allows you to run multiple Windows environments, such as Windows XP Mode, from your Windows 7 desktop). It slows the software down and may not be good for Plasma. I've used it for some old software.
I did a lot of searching and could not find specifics to your question. I take it from your question it is not working.

Have a logitech mx500, can not get windows 7 to let me set button functions, mouse shows up as hic compliant....ect, but picture and button are for 2 button mouse

Hop online, and chase down a driver for the mx500 (logitech should still have one on their website). Try to ensure that it is windows 7 compliant.
Install the driver and your problems should be solved
Hope this helps, Sherwin
