The D610 is the improved model of the D600. The motherboard cannot be upgraded but it is possible to upgrade the RAM and processor.
However, aside from a ram upgrade and maybe a hard drive upgrade, I'd look at replacing the system as very quickly you lose cost effectiveness especially when a Inspiron 15 starts at $449 this week.

Can you upgrade cpu in dell 15 i5559-4682slv to i7 ?

It is almost impossible to upgrade proprietary makes like Dell and HP. The are big enough to have motherboards made for them manufactured on price point. This means that they are not built with upgrade in mind. Also the cases are made to fit their motherboard and theirs only.

Go to a computer builder and get a good case, buy a good quality motherboard and equip it with what you can afford. In two years you can upgrade as processors have moved on. Two years after that, you can swap out the motherboard, processor and memory.

I want to change out/upgrade the motherboard. What will fit into my existing tower?

Buy a new towercase that is compatible with the new motherboard. You may need a more powerful power supply which should come with a new tower case but check it does.
It will be hard to assess if the previous tower has a powerful enough compatible power supply and what size motherboard it is rated to hold..

Well, it depends on your computer specification because every operating system has it own hardware requirements. I need a motherboard that will fit in a Raidmax ATX1072BP Mid Tower ATX Computer Case!

Most desktop computer cases have a range of standard mount holes, standard offs.
I suggest you select a motherboard that suits your requirements.
To be sure that the motherboard will fit your case, take the motherboard mount base with you to the computer shop and place the motherboard of your choice on the base to see if the mounting holes line up.
You may need to upgrade the switch mode power supply to a higher power unit if the total power requirements is near the maximum the existing unit can deliver.

My motherboard damaged. How can I choose another motherboard that can fit my core 2 duo chipset?

That depends on the make of the computer. For instance, Gateway cases are not compatible with generic moterboards. You would have to look at the back and inside of the case to see if another motherboard will fit. The template for the back is usually provided with a motherboard, but in some cases you may have to modify the case a little.

I need a motherboard that can use the same case and everything els as the p4vmm2 My case is the ATX with Intel celeron 2,4GHz

you can use any ATX mainboard into an ATX case, they are universal. Your cpu will only fit boards with the same cpu footprint so you need to know what socket your cpu is.. lga775 is most common now. I would advise a Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR board. Excellent board and well worth the outlay.. no issues with windows xp or vista and you can expand drives and ram as you wish..

Help Upgrading Processor

You'll find the information you seek at both the processor company and the motherboard company. As for remounting it in a Compaq case you may run into some issues of the On/Off Switch, power lead, reset button ect...matching up. You might be suprised at how inexpensive a new computer case is. I've seen some as low as $25. Your power supply can be removed and it will fit in your new case. You may just have a easier go of it. Good luck...please leave a rating, thank you kindly
