Ok the 4 screws on the back are easy but i think what your talking about is the processer heatsink and things of that sort all that can go in and out easily ,the memory chips just find the tabs on the side of them and gently push them outward and the memory should pop out.but when putting them back in use both hands and make sure the slots line up on the meory and the board, now the processer is hard to say im not sure what style processer heatsink you have that has to be removed ,but you can hook a volt tester to your main power supply plug to see if its putting out what its supposed to be if not you know thats your problem
hope this help,
will

Ahh, the soul wrenching sound of the hard disk drive "Click of Death". Try booting to your Windows CD and go to R for recovery console. See if you can run CHKDSK /R and you might be able to get back into windows. But most likely, you are replacing the hard disk drive

Power bottom light flashes amber and the temperature light is steady amber after DMD chip replacement.

Sounds like a board problem or a bad temp sensor. Those things get pretty hot (charred) and you may have open circuit it when you swapped. Did you put the old one back in?

Amber light is flashing on my computer and it won't turn on at all. Help!

The Dell Dimension 300 gets the amber blinking light when there is power to the computer (the power supply) but the motherboard isn't getting the correct power. Sometimes it can indicate a motherboard fault or that the power supply is not set to the correct incoming voltage.

Check the back of the computer. If the power supply has a switch for incoming voltage, make sure that it matches your incoming voltage. Next check that the main power cable (20 or 24 pins depending on the computer) is fully seated on the motherboard. (It can only be connected one way and should lock onto the connector on the motherboard.)

Next check that the power supply is providing the correct power. You can simply install another power supply (known to work on another computer). Make sure that the PSU is correctly sized for the computer components. Alternatively use a multimeter or a dedicated power supply tester or put it in a different machine.

If the problem is not cured with a new PSU, the motherboard has a failure. Unfortunately, it's difficult to identify the exact bad component. (If a major component other than the CPU on the motherboard had failed, the diagnostic lights or beep codes could help identify the issue.)

I hope this helps.

E system 1212 Laptop won't switch on. Power

Laptops are so integrated that usually a system failure that involves power issues such as in your case where you cant get it turn on with anything on the screen mean the mainboard (motherboard) is damaged. This usually leads to buying a new laptop or paying for the board to be replaced which usually costs as much as the laptop.

Tape won't eject

Soft power the unit down and very carefully unscrew the cover. The greatest care must be when taking the tape out so that you don't bend the unit.

Consider blowing it out to get rid of dust and it very likely has a problem that will require service. My quantum px502 had a stuck tape and I took the cover off but the picker was already off track - $700 to fix that and replace a sensor.

Consider a maintenance contract as on visit to the repair shop will cost hundreds of dollars.  And, if you get the tape out another will likely stick soon.  So service will be necessary.
