Usually this is due to a bad temperature sensor. Sometimes it's due to a control board malfunction.
If you can get an accurate measurement of the oven temperature (which is not as easy as it sounds) you can do some diagnosis from the outside:
You need an accurate thermometer or thermocouple into a DVM. Make sure there are no obstructions in the oven (baking sheets, etc). Make sure you are measuring the temperature in the center of the oven cavity.
1. If the average measured oven temperature agrees with the display, the sensor is probably ok. The controller cycles the element on and off, at a rate that results in a correct average temperature. So you have to record the thermometer reading min and max over several cycles.
2. If the sensor seems ok from #1, it can be verified by disconnecting it and measuring its resistance. Should be 1080 ohms at 70F.
3. If the sensor seems ok, but the oven temperature is erratic, then it's probably a control board issue. We repair these at www.fixyourboard.com

My landlady decied to "fix" some electrcal issue in the building. I beleive I heard her mumble about a circuit. Hours later we all lose power randomly. My oven light now only operates at half power. Although the console is fully lit. The burners and oven elements begin to feel warm but do not light up or get hot. I am wondering if this could possibly be an easy fix or if it is a throw it out and buy new situation.

Hi, I have a frigidaire 27 inch wall oven and every time I use the cleaning cycle the oven quits working. I have had it less than a month and the tech that came out to fix it said it was a common problem and that all I need to do is pull the oven out, remove the back panel, and hit the reset switch. That is crazy. What do you think.

What is the power in watts of each of the oven (not top burners) coils in the ES340 oven section? Top oven coil watts? Bottom oven coil watts? Thank you
