On your front panel board where you press on/off ch+ch- vol-vol+ the Menu contact switch is either dirty or defective,Clean all front contact swiches or replace them Clean with contact cleaner only for Parts Call Mats 1-800-628-1118 This another problem RCA has with these TVs.

I have an RCA 52inch rear projection tv model No#R52wh74 when i turned on the set the screen went into some concave mode and the color is al distorted what do i need to fix this

Do you have the convergence option in the customer setup menu? IF YOU DO NOT consult the tips and tricks section of this website for the article ' "The fl231 fuse problem" If you do then it will need some more trouble shooting

Rca r52wh74 - no auto convergance


Go to menu then setup look for convergence if it is missing on menu then you have a open FUSE/ FL231, But if you have convergence on menu then go into service mode turnTV off then PRESS and hold at same time ch- and vol- wait for set to come on then release TV should now be in Factory settings.

when the menu keeps poping up it ussally the front panel cuircit board. This is the board that the front button are on. to remove the board you have to remove front bottom panel then remove the center panel. these panel are attached with about 4 torx screws on both sides the 4 torx on botom of center panel and two on each side..

ALL of you have a problem in power supply/deflection board 3 capacitors open located cp150 2200uf 16volt and two 220uf 35 volt, check them first then resolder around FBT other wise order new deflection board 125.00
