Hello.. My the autofocus on my xsi is not working.. it sounds like the lens is not catching in a way.. like, the camera is asking it to focus but the lens isn't moving at all... it makes the sound it...

Yes sort of, we have several possibilities first is that if the lens is equipped with an auto and manual switch the switch may have been set to manual or it's positioned between manual and auto focus. Failing that I'd suggest you turn off the camera release the lens from the body and reinstall it making sure the lens has fully locked and you hear it click into place. Remove the battery from the camera for a few seconds and re-install the battery and turn the camera back on. hopefully all will work for you again. Failing this I'd say you have foreign material caught up in the lens barrel like sand dry dust, lint from a fuzzy glove. If that is the case then the lens would need service and cleaned.

Camera says lens error and I don't know how to solve the problem

try these:-
  • connect it to pc and on it
  • vaccum the barrel of lens
  • changing mem. card and batt. for 2min.
  • shake it.
  • on and off in different positions
  • hit the part near lens softly with palm (trust me this made mine work)

I want to take a very very clear snapshot of the vehicle so which c mount camera may i use and where it will be available

are referring to a moving vehicle? if yes, your zoom lens above would just be okay. i suggest that you set your camera to Time Priority and select at least 1/40 to have blur background. The key is to lock on the moving vehicle to the panning of your camera by twisting your body to the direction of the subject. This link gave some pointers to do this:

Powershot e1 says lens error, restart camera and won't work

Were you at the beach? If so, it more likely started when a single grain of sand clung to the side of the camera's lens barrel while it was being closed.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Lens clicks but will not close. It says lens error restart camera

I have the same following problem before. It may cause you drop it and the lens stuck. Try to push your lens. Mine solved after doing this =]

Turns on but that's all

Oh yes the Sony Click When the camera powers up it must run a duty cycle to check that all circuits and the lenses are functioning properly. What you are hearing is most likely the gear assembly on the lens is out of time. one gear reaches its limit the motor doesn't know because another component is not is the proper orientation and on gear clicks over another. Never reaching the end The software does not get the information that everything is okay and does not allow the camera to function. Suggest professional Repair.
