I have a Canon Pixma MP830. I had a paper jam earlier today. I have been unable to clear the jam. I have carefully pulled out any paper I could see. I have turned it off and on but the movable ink...

There's a possibility that there's still some foreign object inside your printer and you may need to open it up and check again the inside part of the printer for any foreign object there tha is causing this problem.....

Fax always jams at the rear, as soon as it hits the rear door sensor it jams. Tried new main pcb and it still does it. I have 3 fax 2920's doing this now!!

This is a common problem on the fax-2920. It is caused by a build up of dust and dirt on the ejection roller that stops it from grabbing the paper as it is fed up towards it. To fix it you have to remove the fuser unit for access and wipe all four of the little rubber wheels over with alcohol. Put it all back together and it should be all good!

Jammed paper the jam is obvious when trying to slide paper drawer in. Jammed Paper is not visible Lifting movable parts does not expose paper

Paper jams can be tricky to solve. The paper is usually stuck inside the printer mechanism so even if there is no visible paper jam, you will still get the paper jam error. Try this:

1. Turn off your printer
2. Open all trays and remove any paper stuck there
3. Locate the button to open the printer, open it and remove any paper stuck there also.
4. Repeate the above step for all buttons that you can find to access the inside of the printer
5. Close all doors and put back all trays
6. Turn on your printer

The paper is jammed..

Hi there,

Cause and solutions for paper jams

Cause 1 : Paper jammed in the Paper Output Slot, the Auto Sheet Feeder, or the Front Feeder.
Soultion : Remove the paper following the procedure below:
1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the paper source or from the Paper Output Slot, whichever is easier.
* IF the paper tears and a piece remains insde the machine, open the scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and remove it.
After removing all paper, close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), turn the machine off and turn it on again.
-Be creful not to touch the components inside the machine.
*If you cannot pull out the paper, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
2)Reload the paper in the machine, and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turned off the machine in step 1 all the print jobs in queue are cancellled. Reprint if necessary.
if you cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the paper jam error continues after moving the paper, contact your Canon service representative.

Cause 2 : Landscape credit card-size paper jammed inside the machine.
Action : Do not load credit card-sized paper in the landscape orientation.
Slowly pull out the paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder and remove it. If you cannot remove the jammed paper or the paper jam error continus after removing the paper contact your Canon service representative.

Cause 3 : Paper jammed inside the machine at the transport unit.
Action : Remove the paper following the procedure below :
!) Hold the Rear Cover Lever and then press to the right and put to remove the Rear Cover.
2) If you can see the jammed paper, slowly pull the paper out.
* Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine.
* If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
3) Reattach the Rear Cover.
Hold the Rear Cover so that the Rear Cover Lever comes to the left. Align the protrusions at the right edge of the cover with the slots at the rear of the machine and press on the lever ot reattach the Rear Cover.

Important : Press firmly on the Rear Cover until it is fit squarely in the rear of the machine. If the Rear Cover is not reattached properly, paper may not feed properly and cause paper jams.

4) If you were not able to remove the paper out in step 2, remove it from the Front Feeder. Refer to cause 1.

5) Relaod the paper in the Front Feeder and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turn off the machine in step 2, all print jobs in queue are cancelled. Reprint if necessary.

Hope this helps.

Copier jams after making one copy

Is the jam Physical? (Damaged lead edge where it may have caught some thing)
Is the jam Timing (paper if perfect, it just stopped.)
If it is Physical then you need to look for the obstruction, paper clip, staple, or small piece of paper. Check very carefully, remove any foreign matter and retry.

If it is a timing jam, the start by removing the paper, check inside the the paper feed area for foreign material, fan the paper and carefully reinstall it, making sure it is the right size paper for the paper cassette. if it has movable guides in the tray, be sure they are firmly against the paper on all sides.

Close up the machine and try again.

Hope this helps.

Just installed a maintenance kit in my HP laserjet 5p now it won't work. Followed step by step cd on install. Printer worked before install. Printer keep given me a paper jam code (amber light at top)....

Did the maintenance kit include a fuser? If it did, then check to make sure you didn't break the sensor flag. If it's broken you'll get a constant paper jam indication. It's a movable lever usually where the paper comes out of the fuser.

It is entirely possible you have a small piece of paper that got ripped off somehow and it is now blocking the sensor leading the machine to think it has a paper jam.
Follow your jam clearance instructions again and pay close attention and rotate all movable parts in the jam area many times, then reboot the machine multiple times and allow the machine to completely come up before rebooting again, it may be necessary to reboot the machine 3 or 4 times to clear this error, each time following the jam clearance, if this doesn't resolve then you should have an expert take a look at the machine.
