This problem occurred when your processor goes overheating due to fan and heat-sink problem.

Solution is that just clean your fan and heat-sink and then replace them. When you will start your laptop after this small service, the problem will has been removed.

Good Luck

My HP netbook keeps freezing. I don't know whether its due to overheating. But everytime when it freezes, its very hot. Another problem is, when i shut down my netbook, it always restarts by itself....

Hi xinyi pang17,

I have heard of this problem many times and it is usually due to overheating and motherboard problem. But first thing that you need to check is if the fan is working properly or not. You can use a canned air to blow out dust and accumulated particles from the fan.

However, freezing may also be caused by faulty processor. The unit may freeze (and overheat) while booting up, while using the computer or before the operating system loads if the processor is failing. To verify if the processor is failing, just access the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) setup and test if it will overheat from there. If it does, surely the processor and/or motherboard needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps.

What is the best solution for em350 hang up?

Hello,
Usually when a laptop is freezing it is due to over-heating or operating system problems.

To help with over heating you can:
- Remove the bottom panels from your laptop and used compressed air to clean / free the fans.
- Get a laptop stand that does not obstruct the in-take / out-take for the air flow.
- Some people recommend laptop cooling pads.

Please let me know if this helps.

KYTechnology

I have a toshiba satellite p305d-s8828 laptop and have 19dc @ plug going into main board and 19dc on motherboard. Is the motherboard fired? And no power on computer.

Since you have measured the voltage on the motherboard I must presume you are saying there is no power "indicator light" on computer. If this is not the case please clarify. If the light is absent please test the battery as these laptops are not designed to work without a battery or with a dead battery. Operating without a battery can spike the motherboard or other components and cause failure due to overvoltage. If you do have a power indicator light then next observe whether the bootup is proceeding with a beep after the POST (power on self test) and whether you can hear the movement of the hard disk drive... possibly indicating failed LCD display or display drivers/setup. Press F8 after the POST beep to get to safe mode display drivers.

Toshiba Satellite M35X-S329 freezing problems...

I have never heard of anyone being able to fix a bad motherboard other than to solder on a new DC jack which is not what your problem is. You should call Toshiba and ask them if this is a known issue and maybe they will fix it if there is an extended warranty.

Computer freezes

make sure your CPU fan is functioning correctly, this happens generally when the CPU is overheating due to fan problems or stoppage. If the fan is ok, and the CPU is not overheating, try a different memory, one of will work.

i suspect a possible loose contact between the ribbon connecting the motherboard module to the LCD display module. if you can open up the laptop, check if the both the ends are snug and tight.
