Question about Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10 Digital Camera

1 Answer

USB Initializing I bought my camera used and it works great. I had to purchase the USB cord separately but when I plug it into the camera it just says USB Initializing and has an hour glass. It never changes or allows me to download my pictures. Any advice? Should I get a different USB cord? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dana

Yes, I bought it used and nothing came with it except the memory card.

I can get the pics via the card at the WalMart Kiosk. I guess it's not as bad as it could be :) It does take beautiful pictures just can't get them directly via usb.

    Thanks for your help

I have Microsoft Windows 2002 Service Pack 2

I downloaded the software that is required for earlier Windows but it said in the manual it wasn't needed for my version. I am so computer illiterate. I will look for the icon but as i stated earlier, on my camera it just shows "initializing usb" on the screen with an i'm not sure what is going on there. Maybe i should try with another computer to know for sure. I can try that tomorrow at school. Any more help would be a great thing and thanks so much for the help you've already given. :)

It is normal for a Camera to be sold complete with all leads in the box.
Was this not so in your case.
Is it used or secondhand?

    I hate to say this
But the reason it was sold I guess was the camera or card is faulty.
Take it back and ask for your money back.
This is an old model camera, Minolta no longer exist as a brand and the company has been taken over by Sony.
So I guess you could be on a loser here.
Does it take pictures and can the card be read in some other way, for example via a card reader?
It is even possible the camera is OK but the card is faulty.
Do you have access[via a real friend] to another card or camera to check out on.?

    It takes pictures OK fine.
It may be you are not setting it up to up load correctly.
or Your computer is not up to it.
A Widows ME/2000/XP/ will read the camera as an extrarive so that it shows as a new icon in My Computer.
Also the Scanner/Camera Wizard will come up asking what you wish to do with the images.
What is happening here for you
what is the operating system on your computer

Where do I plug in the white and yellow cords into my computer ?

The white and yellow cords are av hookups (tv, stereo, etc.) You need to use the USB cord to connect the camera to your computer. Or, you could insert the card into a separate card reader and plug that into your computer.

My mother purchased camera in oregon last september, but she lost a bag that had the camera box at the airport while traveling home. She only has the camera itself. we bought her a charger for it .. which...

It doesn't. What you need is Samsung part CB20U12, which is a USB cable that connects between the camera and the computer. It will allow you to charge the camera from the computer as well as transfer pictures between the two. For more information on the camera you may want to follow this link and download/print the camera operating manual.

Needa charger cord for polaroid m737t

You cannot charge this camera through a USB cable, you need to use the battery charger that comes with it. If they didn't give you a separate charger, you need to call Polaroid and order a new one, but be prepared to pay almost $30.

Fuji s602z CF II card not initializing

I've bought a SanDisk ExtremeIII 4GB CFI card. Ofcourse, at the beginig nothing worked. Camera format command worked neither (initializing problem,...). I then formated my card through a car reader on fat16 and now everything works. Just make this command: format <volume>: /FS:FAT. After checking and formathing the card, you will be asked to go on by 64K size of cluster. say Yes.

Sony DSC-W170

Your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 came with a cord that had a little flat plug on one end and three separate plugs on the other end.  The single plug goes into the bottom of your camera.  The end that has three plugs has

(1) USB
(2) video output
(3) audio output

(2 and 3 are for hooking up to your TV)

If you connect the USB end to your PC and the single, flat plug into your camera, this acts as the USB cable.  There is no USB plug on the camera (for just a USB cord).

My computer doesn't recognize my new cord for my camera

Try to check if the camera software and driver is properly installed in your computer.

Make sure that your camera is compatible with your computer operating system.

Are you sure you purchased a genuine Samsung USB cord? Because it would be much advisable to use Samsung USB cable.

Try to go to and you may purchase the cable there.

You can't charge the camera with the USB cord because the camera dosn't have a charger built inside. You need to use an external charger. Here is a link showing several sites that have battery chargers for this camera.

You charge it by plugging into the usb plug on the camera. When you purchased the camera there should have been 2 cords that came with it. A usb plug to your computer, and a usb plug to plug into an outlet. Both will charge your battery. You should be able to purchase a usb to computer cord at a Circut City or other electronics store. Just make sure you take the camera to the store with you. To make sure you get the correct cord.
