Ariel

we are down stairs in a rumpus room and get good, nz1 nz2 and nz3.
but the other channels are are fuzzy, ghosted and go in and out, and are impossible to watch when its raining.

mum who lives upstairs also gets good tv nz 1 2 and 3, and has the same problem plus gets some sort of emi on her 100hz tv, which is strange because we dont. ( could that be the boster? ). she has a shorter tv cable to the ariel .

We origionally had a low gain ariel which worked well and i dont remember having any of the current problems. until we did, so we got a technician in and he put up a high gain ariel.

We live about 400 meters from some power lines and are in a valley.
Also the tv cable is thin, i think its rg9.

Question? would using rg6 cable ( thicker cable ) and adjusting the low gain ariel fix week signal problem, and is there anything that could help with the emi that my mum gets.
