How do I open a cd to transfer it to my pc?

Put a store purchased CD or dvd in the drive and see if it is seen by computer.
If so, remove it and place your cd in the drive.
If you get a message, format not recog., find out what format or was used to copy cd.
If you are useing VISTA and wish to view a doc. made on a win98 machine, you will have problems.

If the cd/dvd drive is not seen under mycomputer, you may have a damaged drive or may need to reconfigure it to be seen by your computer.
Check your jumper settings on the drive.
But first try a new disk and see what comes up.

first you need to make sure you have the same program on your PC that was used to create the document... then check in your "my computer folder. if you still don't see it you need to go into your device manager and repair your drivers for your CD-ROM drive.
