Ds is fully charged and won't come on.

We've had the ds since Thanksgiving and now it is tripping. It is fully charged and will not come on. When you plug it in to the charger the orange light comes on for a second and then goes off. Is there a reset or do we need to buy some parts?

Does your Nintendo DS Lite still have a warranty? If so, then send it in to Nintendo for repair.

Im charging my ds and the red light goes out does that mean it is fully charged

Hi there. Yes it does. It is basically an indicator to tell when your DS has fully charged so that you do not waste any unnecessary electricity.

Please rate and comment, thank you.

How long should my battery last? I bought an nintendo DS lite and I forgot to ask?

Hello there, the Nintendo DS Lite has four levels of brightness. The battery will last 15-19 hours on the lowest settings, and 5-8 hours on the brightest. This can also vary depending on the type of game activity."
So the DS should last the whole time in even on the highest brightness settings, if fully charged. Nintendo states that it takes 3 hours to fully charge the DS.

hope this helped, also this site will also help you to get your ds battery to last for longer

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

DS will not turn on.

How can you tell if it's fully charged if it wont turn on? If your answer is that the light wont come on try to charge it, you're a few IQ points below average.

It's likely that the screen is either dead, or the battery is dead. Not just drained, the batteries inside the DS can die after awhile. There are plenty of sites that sell replacement batteries, use google to find them

Ds lite

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
