Sounds like you are having a defrost problem. Most of the time it turns out to be the defrost timer. Hope this helps

Door wasnt closed properly over the weekend fridge starting to cool, no ice, freezer works display reads Er-1F

The door being open probably caused ice to build up on the evaporator, not allowing air to flow properly between freezer compartment and refrigerator, unplug the unit for a few hours and place a fan aimed at the freezer compartment to help it defrost then plug unit back in should be fine.

when it stops cooling, you will see some ice build up in the freezer. Letting it sit unplugged melts the ice and you will see some water under the fridge. Connect power and it works. Cause: don't overload the fridge and the freezer. Make sure the doors close snugly. Clean all lint build ups by vacuuming under and behind the fridge after switching off power.

Freezer keeps building up ice on the condenser i think, and after a few day sitting the bottom part of the freezer freezes and the rest dont

Hi,

I'm not sure what system you have but typically there is a defrost timer on the back of the fridge. Often you can barely detect where it is, as only the stem sticks out.
What worries me is the amount of moisture in your fridge. You did not indicate how long to make the build up, check your seals carefully with a dollar bill.

When a refrigerator door is left open the freezer will continue to run to keep it cold and since it can't cool an open area it will freeze up on the inside, to resolve this you will need to unplug the fridge and open the freezer door and allow the freezer to thaw completely, once it is thawed you can plug it back in and everything should go back to normal after a 24 hour period

Sounds to me like you have a bad defrost timer. As the freezer is working correctly, it is building ice on the evaporator. It sounds like it does not go into defrost, thus freezing up the evap coil, and stopping the evap from cooling the surrounding air. Hope this helps

Refrigerator will not get cold, but freezer works

Make sure your fan is working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refrigerator may be blocked (usually with ice). With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open untill all traces of ice are gone this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.
