If there is no heat, it has nothing to do with the vent, but everything to do with the element. Yoiu either have a bad element or are not getting power to it.

Why is my Whirlpool cabrio platinum dryer leaking water, and taking over an hour to dry clothes?

Is this an older dryer? Long drying times are often caused by lack of good heating or poor air movement through the drum. Air movement depends on a properly turning fan and a clear exit of hot moist air to the outside vent. Check and see if you get a strong blast of air from your outside vent. If you don't, you may have a fan problem, plugged vent, or kinked vent tube. The water leaking could be because you don't have any drying going on due to the aforementioned problems.

Whirlpool duet electric dryer leaking water

Check and clean your venting from the dryer to the outside. If it is plugged it will trap the moisture in the machine. Remember heat doesn't dry the clothes without air flow to push the moisture out.

Thermal fuse in dryer keeps blowing out

Hi Janet Douglas
Check to make sure your vent is clear, this can cause the overheat problem and blow the thermal fuse.
Also check to make sure the blower is not full of lint also as this can cause the same problem you are having happen.
Another thought:
Right after replacing a dryer element, always run the dryer on air fluff/no heat, and go outside to verify there's plenty of air coming out your vent system.
If the vent's clogged, that new element and thermal can burn out very quickly.

Why does it take two cycles to dry a load. The vent an hose are clean. Cleaned the lint out of the dryer and still takes two cycles

Turn the dryer on high heat and go outside the house, hold your hand over the vent where it exits your house. Is the air flow good or is it weak? Is the temperature warm or is it hot?

If you have weak air flow you have an obstruction, most likely in the blower housing. Check the "bird guard" on your vent outside to be sure it is free and clear. If you temperature is low you may have blown your hi-limit t-stat. You will need to replace it.

If you have no heat whatsoever, it may be the thermal fuse.

My dryer is giving off outside heat and not drying my clothes

check the filter is clear and the access vent from heater fan to tumbler is not blocked - have seen a sock blocking air flow -
drier is only a fan blowing air over a heated element & through a duct or pipe into the tumbler - on exit the air passes a filter and if this is blocked - through passage is obstructed and hot air will escape backwards

My dryer heats, but it has to run through two cycles to get a load dry

Check the vent and the lint trap. The vent pipe needs a clear path to exit the damp air. Check for bends in the vent tube as well as anything blocking the opening outside.

Use a brush meant for clearing the lint trap available at most hardware stores.

I have been getting brown streaks after drying clothes in my whirlpool dryer. they are about an inch long. My dryer is about 12 years old. Is it worth getting new drum seals or ghetting a new dryer?? (...

Try cleaning the entire air vent system of lint first including the exit vent panel (to the outside air). Remove the lint screen and wash it in detergent and hot water. The brown streaks are probably scorch marks rather than oil or grease entering the drum. Good air movement is essential to holding the drying temperature down. Hope this saves that old Whirlpool for another decade!

DRYER TAKES LONGER TO DRY

you could have restricted airflow from the lint screen not being cleaned, a bad blower wheel, or a bad thermostat. take the vent hose off the back and check to see if the air flows out the dryer with good force, if so your vent is probably clogged or not open in the wall. the vent hose may also be picned off from puching the dryer back to far.

Check your exit vent outside of your house... what you can do is remove vent hose on back of your dryer... run dryer and feel the air coming out of the vent right behind your dryer.. now reinstall your vent line and check outside,,, see if you feel the same or about the same air flow... if your air flow is block, then your heat will not come on regularly to dry clothes... good luck
