when i went to turn on my hd52w59 rca tv the green power light came on and then went off. There was no picture or sound. The light stayed on for about 3 seconds. I then tried it again and it did nothing. back or front of tv .... this could be a blown tube if coming from front. from back there is a high chance this is a blown flyback. i have also seen a blown capacitor that blows a hole in the board. be careful leave unpluged.
I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.
you can get any board needed at the following link for your model its the ITC222 chassis, they have pictures of the various boards so you can deyermine which board it is that youre needing. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
replace video ic on Green CRT broad,also look for leaky capacitor on same broad replace it also, If this does not fix it then you have a bad green tube!
