Flat front tire on toro riding lawn mower

Does anyone have experience in pulling off the wheel? it seems secured by a pin that has top shaped like a 'T' and the other end that goes through the whole is curved so it makes it really hard to pull it through. Any tricks to the trade

You need to take your pliers and straighten the curved end to remove the pin and then pull the wheel off. Be sure that your bend the pin back to the way it was after you re-install the wheel. hope this helps you

Changed rear flat on ariens 42 in riding mower put tire back on now mower will no move any more. worked fine when I pulled it up to take tire off

I feel you have lost the shear pin that goes on your axle. The shear pin goes in the little groove in the wheel It may have fallen out when you pulled the wheel off. There are also safety pins in the belt drive pulleys

When measuring deck for level, measure at blade tips not the deck on a flat level surface. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Remove front tire on lawn mower

Jill,

If the tire has a hole have you considered a Plug?

If thats not an option before you can pull the tire off, there should be a small snap ring holding it in place. please use blocks to block the tires and do the following.
  • Park the lawn mower on a level surface, then place the wheel chocks in front and behind the rear tires.
  • 2Place the jack under the frame at the front of the mower. Raise the mower up and place the jack stands under each side of the frame. Lower the jack until the mower frame sits firmly on the jack stands
  • 3Remove the plastic cap in the center of the wheel by hand; this should expose the snap ring holding the wheel to the axle.
  • 4Pry the snap ring off the axle with the flathead screwdriver. Slide off the washer, wheel and the shim washers from the axle.

To replace tire follow steps 3 and 4 in reverse order. place shim washers back on and then wheel and then snap ring, etc...

    hope this helps
