The memory has been corrupted. I'm just wondering.. when you unplug it, do you click safely remove? Because if you don't, that's what did it. I have a flash drive that I can't put anything on either cause it's corrupted too. There's nthing you can do about it, it's pretty much fried. Sorry. Try ebay if you're looking for cheap.

My mp3 is skipping on some of my songs

The songs are in the wrong format - it does not recognize iTunes songs or DRM-encrypted songs which do not have "transfer rights" (many msuic services - especially free ones but also paid ones - give you WMA's that have "play rights" -i.e. you can play them on your computer; but if they do not have transfer rights, they will show up in your player, yet not play correctly/skip).

Transfer only songs that are in Mp3 Format and you will never have this problem.

Adding Songs from CDs onto my MP3 Player

If you're using Windows, then use Windows Media player to rip your music into WMA. If you don't want to do that, use CDdex to rip your music from CD to MP3. The problem probably lies in whatever program your using to rip your music. To your player. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/

Either the DB is corrupt of the license on the songs expired - make sure the music service is completely up to date. If it is, then go to RCA's website and get the latest firmware update.

Skips music in two seconds

Try pushing the headphone jack in further. A common problem seems to be that people don't push it in as far as it can go and this causes the skipping.

Computer will not acknowledge the player

RCA TH1100 Series:
The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes ,format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player tiself.
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
You may also want to check
http://support.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads.aspx?product=25
for any firm updates - the above procedures in some cases undo the original formatting on the player, and a firmware upgrade will be required to replace the Mp3 player's formatting.
