Question about Toshiba CF35F40 35" TV

1 Answer

On Toshiba TV model CF35F40 I have replaced vertical output Q301 (TA8427K), I got back the vertical raster but it is out of sync. I tried to find a control to put it in sync but I did not found any. In page 1 on the Sam's PhotoFact says to work with the remote entering in service mode pressing TV/video until a crossbar pattern is displayed. I did that but I did get the crosshair pattern, I am doing something wrong? It is this the only way to adjust the vertical frequency?

1. Reheat your solder, it could be the culprit, a good soldering technique is needed.

2. Check you minor component, the capacitor for the oscillator part and the filter capacitor.

3. Check also the IC part number from the original, sometimes prefix and suffix thus stand for some minor variations.

Goodluck, this is just to add some info.

My tv have one line white horizontal

The vertical output integrated circuit (Q301, mounted on a heatsink roughly in the middle of the main circuit board) isn't working. This is frequently because of bad solder connections, which is an easy repair if there are no other parts needing replacement. However, the device itself may have gone bad or there may be power supply problems. It's not unusual for other parts around the IC to go bad first and cause the IC to fail.

You can try resoldering the connections to Q301. If that doesn't bring the picture back, or there are other pictures problems afterward, you can see what a TV technician would charge to repair the set. I always liked the Toshiba picture quality, so if everything else was working properly and you were happy with the set it might be worth the cost of fixing it.

I have a Toshiba CRT 32ZP48P. It has a white line constant Horizontally across the centre of the CRT. I have searched for Service Manual but no success. Looking here, it appears SD Tech and tvrepair...

Q301 is the vertical amplifier, once replace everything should work as normal. The reason that this part was damaged is due to excessive heat and not being cool-down properly or the thermal compound became dry.
I have the service manual if you need it. Let me know where to send it to.

I had the same problem with my sis tv. You have to open the front grill and see if the filament on the neck of the crts is lit. If it not you may want to check the horizontal ouput transistor(Q416- for open or short) and its related components around it. If it lit you may want to replace the vertical output IC,Q301 and check the related components around it.
The horizontal and vertical output is on the deflection board where the flyback transformer.. you need to open the back of tv and take the board out to check...

32HFX71 Blinking Pwr Indicator Light

Not likely convergence because it's simply a direct view TV. Could be vertical, a common problem with that unit is the vertical output IC Q301 and poor solder connections of the link off R305. This could be enough to put the unit in shutdown. And it could also be SMPS, possibly regulator or horizontal output transistor - you would need to test these to be sure. The HOT, if shorted, will have continuity E to B or E to C.. If you're not sure you're up to this take it to a reputable shop. What I've described above isn't too serious and a good shop can having back to running good as new in a couple of hours. One tip I might add, take to the shop yourself it will save a few bucks. Good Luck Bill
