Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook
1.) at start up the Window logo appears ... thinks ... then goes to
"unmountable_boot_volume Stop: 0x000000ED (0x8A5C5C30, 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"
2.) can NOT boot to "Safe Mode" ... loads but stops at "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys" -- but loading stops
3.) can boot from Window XP SP2 CD to the Recovery Console
4.) can NOT boot to Repair
-this can be a hardware problem or a software problem
-run diagnostics first on the computer
-turn off computer; while the computer is off, press and hold the "Fn" key then press power at the same time to initialize the test
-if you find error message like 0142 - this is a hard drive failure; contact your manufacturer for replacing your hard drive
-if no error is found, it is a corrupted Windows; you need to reinstall Windows, ensure you consult local technician to back-up files before installation.
