Re: insignia vehicle installed dvd player problem

You have a damaged LCD inverter board. The unit can now be used as a player only and you'll need to connect it to the A/V outs to see video clearly and without the lines.

Power ON DVD, horizontal lines running on the TV screen. How do I get the horizontal lines to stop running and for me to view the screen to possible reset the DVD player.

Check video plugin to see if connect good on both tv and dvd player. You might try unplugging and re plug. If that doesn't help you might try another plug wire not sure if you have rca or HDMI plugs.

No picture and no sound but i can hear the motor running insignia portable dvd player

Check the sleep button/reset button, which sometimes gets stuck on this model. It is a small, black button near the source and setup buttons.

Blue vertical and hrizontal lines moving slowly

This is usually caused by a ground differential. on the cable box. Solution is to put an F-type cable box ground eliminator on the incoming coaxial cable line. You can test this theory by unplugging the Coax on the INPUT of your cable box. They are less than $12.00. For more info go to and put in your zip code to find the closest in home tech to install one for you.

DVD plays as a split screen on my television

On the Insignia remote control:

- press power on
- Open disk tray
- click set up button
- click the arrow button pointing left
- press enter
- click the arrow button pointing up
- press enter
- press enter again

I got this off of a website yesterday evening and figured I'd give it a try. Well, it worked. The screen went back to it's original state and the PSAN error (in the middle of the screen) disappeared.

Wavy lines

Are the wavy lines horizontal or vertical? If they are horizontal and up near the top of the screen it could be 60HZ interference from a power cord running over the cable from the DVD player to the TV. There could also an internal breakdown of the shielding by the power supply of the DVD player. If the lines are vertical it is likely the cable or maybe the input jack on the TV. Could be a number of things.

I'm getting a wobbly, scrambled image

Yes I understand what you mean to me. If your DVD player is running through a coxial [analog] output/input. Try retuning your television presdet for the player. If you have a digital output, rca,av,svideo make sure that the plugs are properl;y inserted and not faulty and are inserted in the RIGHT plug. If your DVD player is running through a surround sound video router test it without running ir through the surround. Hope this helps.
