I have the exact same problem. My phone keeps telling me my memory is full when I have 44Mb off free memory on my phone memory. This is really frustrating, because I couldn't text or add any new contacts to my phone. Please help me. I don't have a job yet so I couldn't afford to buy a new phone.

  • ultimate2007 Jan 05, 2008

It says that the memory is full in spite of the fact that I have 2gb memory card and I save everything on it.

  • kahlua Jan 05, 2008

I've got the same problem with my n73. The problem started when I bought at 1gb memory card, back-up my phone memory on the card, then updatede the firmware and restoret my data on the phone. I only have around 6mb data on my phone memory, but it still tells me the memory is full and blocks my actions. pretty annonying, since I can't delete data which is not there! Will try the solution suggested and report back.

Happened to my n73 twice. Format the phone to get rid of junk piled inside the phone memory.

To format:

  1. turn phone off.
  2. hold the following keys WHILE its turning back on: (3 + * + green call key)
  3. do not let go until it asks you about your location
Your phone will gain 44mb back and go back to normal. Phone will respond a lot faster too, as if it were new. Viruses would be deleted as well as other junk stuffed inside.

Important reminder:

If you have anything stored on the phone memory that you woudn't want to delete, such as pictures, videos, or whatever, back it up to your memory card or computer. The format process deletes all stored memory on the phone, but not the memory card.

I have found a solution that worked for me.
I have switched phones with one of my friends for one day, finding out that the memory is no problem for them, at the end of the day i reclaimed my phone and the phone memory was working no problem.

NOTE:

  • must swtich the SIMs card and make sure your friend who uses your phone actually uses the phone.
Hope this helps others as it did for me.

I prefer you guys put sothing like 5 mb of data file ( it can be a vdo ) in your phone memory all the time. When you get the momorry full error just move that file to the memory card nd you'll have around 30mb free space in the main memory
nd dont forget to copy it bak to main for the next time ;)

Good day. Its the common problem for nokia N73, try to delete any files from your phone memory. Its one of the reason why your phone got hang-up, remember do not use your phone memory for saving large files, but instead always use the memory card, to avoid this problem. Or reformat the phone if necessary. thanks

Hi, My N73 shows Memory full & ask to delete some data, except the phone book i have deleted all the other data, but still the problem persist, i am not able to send or receive mgs's nor view the...

Its mean phone memory is full, you can make some space by deleting some installed application. Delete also all cache/history in your browser. If the problem persist, reset your phone to factory setting after put off your memory card. After resetting the phone, your phone memory will be empty again and you can reinstall your previous application. Avoid to install application in phone memory (always install in memory card).

Hope this help.

My Nokia N73 keeps on giving an error "Memory full and delete some data " where as phone memory very much free and doesnt have much of application. Please help..

This problem arises when your phone settings are so as to save everything on the phone and not on the memory card. For that you have to select your camera go to settings and select memory card. Same way you can save you messages into your memory card this will help you because when you share something with blue tooth it is saved in you in box.
Go to messages press the options button select setting.
then go to other and in memory select memory card. It will ask if you want to move your existing messages from your phone to memory card, select yes if you want and save the settings.

Nokia N73 - problem, memory full please delete some data or application

remove your memory card if there is any, and follow the following steps.
but before, do you have any contacts saved on the phone memory, if yes, first back them up onto your memory card. go> contacts >options> copy all > memory card.
after backing up contacts,
- power off mobile
- press *,3 and call button all at same time and power up mobile.
- keep pressing the three buttons for about 2minutes
-release them and wait for mobile to start full.
- Your problem should be solved
- put back memory card and restore your contacts.

Memory phone always full

Hey there actually i also had the same problem but a minute ago so a review in the site http://cdpsolutions.blogspot.com/search/label/Nokia%20N73 and it said that formatting my cell with the number *#7370# would help if no try doing the other way of formatting that is : switch off your mobile phone and simultaneously press 3 keys that is green dial, star key (*), and no.3 key while pressing all these key switch on your mobile the factory settings will be restored or as to say your phone will be fresh as new, JUST DO REMEMBER TO TAKE A BACK UP OF ALL YOUR REQUIRED DATA because mine got deleted few minutes ago. hope this works, take care gob bless bye
