I run a toshiba satellite m45. I can connect to the wifi at the library, at the cafe and at the boces school. when i'm at home i have an excellent connection to the utica wireless network which is an unsecured network. no pass words needed. this network is ran by SUNY IT here in utica and is available for two hours a day to anyone with a good to excellent signal. when i open my web browser it reads can not display web page even though i'm already connected. I've already set auto detect network and lowered firewall settings with no avail? HELP!

Had help from another visitor and it didn't work. the problem is a little more complex than that, or it could be something simple that i"m over looking. i am already connected to utica wireless. this is an unsecured wifi connection. the connection strength is excellent, but it will not display a web page. there is no router in my house as i said this a public wifi. after running a diagnostic and viewing the log. it says it has a problem resolving the host due to IP address. i have their address which is 172.50.1.188 i am not sure if they're asking for mine or what? please send help and reinforcements.

Windows WiFi Fix,
Windows Zero Wireless Configuration is one of the best programs to run a WiFi in Windows XP or Vista. Most of the other software packages that come with the different adapters have been poor at best in keeping a connection through Windows. Here is the best guide to get you back up and connected.
Windows XP:
Click Start
Right click on My Computer
When a window pops up click on properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click Device Manager
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

Windows Vista:

Click Start Logo
Right Click Computer
Click Device Manager
Windows will ask you about opening Device Manager Click Continue
Click the [+] next to Network Adapters
Find your wireless card and right click on it.
Click Disable
Windows may warn you that disabling the device may make it stop functioning.
Continue disabling the device.
Wait 30 seconds or so.
Right click on your wireless again and click Enable.
Exit the device manager.
Reconnect to your router.
You should now be able to connect to the internet.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

I want to connect my Cassatt Tape Recorder to Toshiba Satellite M45-S165 Laptop and record data by using Audacity Software. Recommend the connection cable

I have never used that programme but expect it uses the sound card as an interface. If it does, the manual will tell you, you will need a Phono lead with 3.5mm jack plug on one end.
Hope that helps.

Wireless does not show up in Network Connections

Did you try - after switching on the "antenna switch" or WiFi hardware - to "Enable" the WiFi adapter, under (XP) Start - Settings - Network Connections - LAN or High-Speed Internet - Wireless Network Connection? (select, right click and select Enable)?

p.s. Once your WiFi hardware is recognized (by Win XP) there is (should be) always a "Wireless Network Connection" in your Network Connections, enabled or disabled, active or not.
