SOURCE: change battery

Hi,

If it is cordless, it has batteries. You can usually tell if the small red light is off on the bottom.

Most mice have the battrey compartment in the rear half of the top of the mouse. The rear half slides off. Something like this:

Yours will probably hold 2 AA batteries. If it is one of the smaller ones it may have the battery compartment underneath and take 2 AAA batteries.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Change batteries in a targus portable mouse

I found the user guide in French. It says to slide back the cover behind the Logo on top.
also found it in English:

Installing the Batteries
Optical Mouse
1 Remove the battery cover from the top of the mouse by
pressing the top center (over the Targus logo) and
sliding it back.
2 Insert the supplied batteries , making sure that the
positive (+) and negative (-) ends of each battery match
the polarity indicators inside the battery housing.
WARNINGS: When replacing the batteries, you may use
alkaline or other heavy-duty NiMH batteries. Never
combine an alkaline with a NiMH battery in a device.
Avoid mixing new and used batteries in a device.
3 Slide the battery cover back in to position until it “clicks”
firmly into place.
4 Turn on the mouse by sliding the on/off switch on the
bottom of the mouse to the “on” position.
The optical sensor, located on the bottom of the mouse,
glows red.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and i need to change the battery. I cant find any latch or button to open the mouse to put new batteries in it! I looked on the MS site and found nothi

There is actually no release button on my 5000. Between the white on-off button and the bluetooth synch button there is a finger notch. If you put your index finger in the notch (pointing toward the base of the mouse you can put your nail under the lip and the batter compartment opens right up. There is a horizontal slot in the battery cover - trying to pry that open does not work. The whole thing is well-cloaked but surprisingly easy when you figure it out!

Changing the batteries in a hp optical wireless mouse

From pictures, it looks like the top part of that mouse slide down.

Try holding it with the buttons facing toward you, and pushing with your thumbs on the top silver piece of the mouse away from you.

Cannot figure out how to change the battery

Below is a link to a pdf file that shows several options. You don't list the model, but most either have a battery compartment on the bottom or if like mine, the rear half of the top of the mouse slides off for the compartment.

Look at Step 1 of the guide and if your mouse is not like one of these, list the exact model of your mouse.

How do you change the battery in mouse?

If the botton doesn't have a little door to open, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have use this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud
