Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160 GB Hard Drive
Previously I was using 40GB Samsung SV0411N 40 GB Harddrive for my PC. I purchased 160GB Barracuda ST3160215A. Now my OS WinXP SP2 is installed on ST3160215A and I want to use SV0411N as slave. But after trying all possible combination I could not start my PC connecting both Hard Drives. I want to get all data from SV0411N but I am unable to connect it with ST3160215A. Any Idea how can I do this? Please solve my problem.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

You need to get a new Hard disk. There is no way to get info off the Hard disk that won't turn in because theres probley a short a an element that failed and burned out. Hope this helped. =)

SOURCE: SATA HDD make SLAVE
IDE Cable with 3 connectors (you have 1 or need to buy 1) :
- blue: conn to motherboard
- black: conn to master HD
- grey: conn to slave HD
Cable (select:) cable will auto detect with most modern HD's from same type (SATA it was i think) and you need to go to you're BIOS, set up cable select for the HD's. Maybe best to set up master first, not both at same time. If you have a SATA and ATA set up the master first, then other. So if SATA is slafe but it in grey connector, otherwise black. For an ATA you might need a converter cable for the power, most motherboards don't have 1.

SOURCE: configure hard disck to slave
you have a diagram on the hard drive that shows you where to install a small jumper tab. Make sure you also remove the master jumper position. Be careful

if y0our going to slave one hardrive you need to set that hardrive jumper into slave format....check your hardisk if where pin should it e placed...usually there is a direction where to set the jumper for slaving the hardrive.
