Question about Canon Digital Rebel / EOS-300D Digital Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens

Open Question

EOS 300D Flash Blocked ?

THE FLASH DOESN'T "POP UP" WHEN I PUSH THE FLASH BUTTON (in creative modes) OR EVEN WHEN I'M SHOOTING IN AUTOMATIC MODE WITH LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS.
When I try in manual mode, I get the Error 05 code..
PS: It's not a question of Camera settings...

The biult in flash does not open,it's just the small one that is working

If you are shooting in any other mode that full auto (the green symbol on the wheel) your flash probably wont pop up on it's own? If your in manual mode you need to push the little flash button yourself to pop it up. And one mode on the dial is no flash mode where the flash won't pop up at all.

I bought my new canon eos 60D..i put on external flsah to use..then after i take off the external flash, my camera's built in flash cannot pop up to take flash even i had press the flash button. How?

Hi, What external flash did you use on your Canon 60D? The internal flash will not automatically pop up if in the "Creative Zone" it will pop up with the button in the creative zones (M, AV, TV and P) it will not pop up with the button if you are in the the full auto mode (that's the little green box mode) but, should pop up automatically if required. The flash should pop up automatically in the basic zone for Portrait, close up and night photography, the button won't activate (pop up) the flash. Also the internal flash will not pop up if there is an accessory in the hot shoe. Again what external flash was it you used and did it flash?

The picture is half black

Half black would suggest that our camera flash and speed are not sycronised.try a slower speed when taking flash/indoor shots when in the creative mode eg,P- TV- AV- etc

Flash will not close on Canon EOS 7D

All you need to do is set the camera to shutter priority other non-automatic mode, hold the flash shut and hold the flash button next to the lens opening. You'll hear a motor and a click and it should latch shut.

Flash won't open on Canon Rebel XSi? It has been working fine but yesterday I went to take a picture and the flash wouldn't open. It won't open on any setting and it won't open if I push the manual flash...

The openning flash button only works on non automatic shooting modes.
On creative zone (automatic options with predefined options) the flash will rise automatically, based on the current exposure conditions. On "Flash Off" mode won't rise the flash ever.
Let me know, please if it solve the problem

I have a canon rebel xti with an 18 to 55 lens .. I recently bought an external flash to sit in the hot shoe .. now when I removed the flash from the hot shoe .. the cameras own flash will not pop up and...

I had the same problem.
Look closely at the hotshoe. Inside it, way over to the side, under one of the tabs on the side, is a tiny metal strip. When you attach an external flash, the strip is pushed down and holds down a tiny button that deactivated the pop-up flash. The strip can get bent so that it doesn't let the button come up even when the external flash is removed.
Very gently take a fingernail or a jeweler's screwdriver and run it underneath the metal strip. I had to do it a couple of times to get mine working again, but it's working great now!

EOS-300D Flash

your flash is acting to 'fill' for you. fill lighting can be a benefit. if you don't want it, see settings menu to turn off flash until you need it. not difficult and worth knowing how to make simple routine setting adjustments.

Flash Problem

Using the flash When shooting with the built-in flash, open the flash manually. The flash does not pop-up automatically. The flash will not fire if it is closed. The flash will work when it is opened up. When the flash is open, the (flash on) icon or (automatic) icon will appear on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder). Flash on: The flash fires in every shot. Automatic: The flash fires automatically. Press the (flash) button to switch between the and flash modes while the flash is open. In some shooting modes, the flash mode does not switch even if the flash button is pressed. Please refer to Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode in the Camera User Guide provided with your camera for more information. When you are not using the flash, close it manually. When the flash is closed, the flash will not fire and the icon appears on the LCD monitor (or in the viewfinder).
