I emailed about 3 weeks ago concerning my player not working and asked where I could locate where I could find the fuse (I was told by friends this probably was the only problem). You responded back quite fast and I thank you however you told me to contact someone else which I got nowhere so I took it upon myself to take the cover off and I seen black smut on the cover and the cord was charred. the cord was tied together with a plastic strap and laying on top of something which looks like a round battery. I haven't had this player very long and I am upset of the cost and also as blackened as it was inside I am fortunate this didn't start a fire. I don't know if this type of problem is warranted or not but I did take pictures and if you would like to see them, please let me know. I this this is a real fire hazard and people need to know.
Thanks

Have used this brand new VCR to DVD recorder model DRC 8312 for about 30 minutes playing a tape last night. Now it just locks up with HELLO. (Guess "I'M A PIECE OF WORTHLESS ****" wouldn't fit on the display) My suggested fix: Use prybar or bolt cutters to get your tape out. Then use sledgehammer to pound this RCA product into a million pieces. Never again RCA.
