Sounds like you have a virus. You might have to take it down and reformat it...which means putting everything back in. I hope you saved some files, if not you might be able to go in through safe mode, but if any of your files require drivers that are missing to transfer, you might be at some loss.

Hello, my toshiba costantly restarts. Im getting the error code 0xc0000001 Even after pressing F8 and selecting F4 for safe mode it restarts and after logging in it says it ran into a problem and need to...

There is no need for an F4 key to boot into safe mode - you are doing something else. Try the following...

Booting into SAFE MODE is waiting until you see the BIOS screen loads and then start to push F8 you may have to push it several times quickly in order for it to work. IT MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE WINDOWS SCREENS APPEAR. Once it comes up. Choose SAFE MODE with NETWORKING. If you able to log into. Then follow the instructions from previous post...

1) Start your computer and log on as an administrator user with administrative permissions.

2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.

3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.

4) Select the most recent system restore point from the "On this list, click a restore point" list, and then click Next.

5) Click Next on the confirmation window.

6) Restarts the computer when the restoration is finished.

This error code is also known as Windows 8 Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). This can be happen without any problem and you can be sure that why it occurs. Sometimes it can be of system issues or sometimes it may happen due to driver problems. To solve this first of all you need to shut down your computer. Then restart it. Just after restarting immediately press SHIFT + F8.

Then you will be redirected to another page. In that page you will be able to see an option "See advanced repair options" click on it. On the next page click on the option "Troubleshoot". In the next page choose the option "Advanced Options". In advanced option choose Windows Startup Settings. Then you will be able to see an option "Restart". Then Click on it. Once the process completed successfully your computer will restart automatically and the problem will get solved.

How to check a hard drive for errors in Windows

Windows comes with many diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tools that can help you get the most life and best performance out of your computer. One of these tools is the hard drive error-checking utility.<br /> <br /> Over time, your hard drive can develop problems, both with the physical disk itself as well as with corrupted areas of the file system. Running the error-checking utility can sometimes fix these problems, and if it can't fix them, it can at least identify and isolate them. It's a good idea to run error-checking once in a while to optimize your hard drive.<br /> <br /> To run Windows error-checking, follow the steps below.<br /> <br /> 1. Click on the Start button (in Vista, click on the Vista orb) to bring up the Start menu.<br /> <br /> 2. Select My Computer (in Vista, select Computer).<br /> <br /> 3. Right click on the hard drive you want to scan for errors and select <br /> Properties.<br /> <br /> 4. In the Disk Properties window, click on the Tools tab.<br /> <br /> 5. Under the "Error-checking" heading, click "Check Now...."<br /> <br /> In the Check Disk window that appears, there are two options. You can run error-checking with neither, one, or both of those options selected, depending on how intensive a scan you want to run (and how long you have to wait). If you check the first option (<i>Automatically fix file system errors</i>) and click Start, you'll be prompted to restart your computer in order for the utility to able to run; you can either restart now or restart later, and when the computer boots back up, the check disk program will run.<br /> <br /> The second option (<i>Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors</i>) can be run immediately, but it can take a lot of time to finish. The bad sector check has four phases, and you'll see a status bar to let you know how far along the check is. Only select this option if you don't need your computer for a while. If you are using a laptop, connect to an external power source before clicking Start to begin the scan.

Computer restarts randomly

If you are using Windows (XP, Vista or 7) then open the Computer properties by clicking on the Computer icon (on desktop or start menu) then go to the Advanced page tab and check if you have the option to automatically restart the system set on in the Startup and Recovery Settings section. If this is on, then Windows will restart the system any time that a critical error is encountered.

The other place to check is in the Windows Event logs (system log) provided this option is enabled.
You should be able to access the event logs by right clicking on the Computer icon and then selecting the Manage option followed by opening the Event viewer where you should look for any critical, error or warning entries that may occur at the times when the computer restarts itself (or posted immediately when it restarts).
