Won't stay powered on

My Yamaha rx-v795a will not stay powered on. It immediately powers down after powering up. You see the screen flash on and then nothing. Any suggestions?

I have the same exact problem. Now it won't power up any more. I was told it was probably a bad power supply, but it hardly seems worth it to fix. If you find a fix let me know. alex@pathfinders.com

Did anyone come up with a solution for a RX-V750a suddenly shutting off? It appears that this model is no longer on the Yamaha list of products, but it is encouraging to see that other people have the same model I do with the same problem. But I don't see a solution. ????

    25/06/2016 SOLVED - SOLVED - SOLVED!!!!!!!!! In the first approach I found some damaged components in the MAIN BOARD: They were Q527A (2sa1492) + Q526A (2SA1358) + Q516 (2SC2240) + R585 (330ohms) + R631 (0.22ohms x 3W) and the MAIN relay of the power sub-board. Now finally I also changed both input capacitors C518, C521 both 100µf x 16V. Now I stopped to get the messagge DC PRT 0% and I'm listening music again!!!!!!?

There is a relay right next to the fuses on the inside dg1u it says on the top. I cleaned it and pressed down firmly on it and it seem to have fixed it. It fired up for the first time.. The relay might need to be replaced if this doesnt work for ya.
I found a solution at: http://www.diyforums.net/forums/domestic-electronics/11098-yamaha-rxv795-receiver-shuts-itself-down-after-some-time.html

Yamaha rx-v663 how to set and lock sound program

once you set the audio program for an input, it should stay set even if you power the unit down. As far as locking that program so that it cannot be changed - no there isn't a way to do that.

Yamaha RX-V595 receiver won't stay on

check ur speaker wires, try disconnect all wires from back of unit and then try to turn on unit .
if it stays on whit no wires attached than u have short connection at speaker wires .
if doesn`t come on then try to fasten screws at back of the unit ,
may sound like BS but if amp board don`t have good ground connection it can go in protection mode happened to me on RX-V592

Rx-v363 powers on then immediately off

The Yamaha receiver is going into shutdown because one or two channels have shorted audio output semiconductors, first check all speaker wires for shorts, if okay! all parts that are effected will need to be replaced.

Hello: I have a Yamaha RX-V863 Receiver for 3 years. I try to on my receiver, but he start on, only for 2 or 3 second and then turning off immediately. I verify the wall outlet and the power in my house...

There is a load on the system, turn receiver off, disconnect speaker wires from the back, power on and turn volume right down. If the system stays on it means there is a short in the wires or one or more of the speakers. But if turns off with"wires and speakers diconnected" there is a short in one or more of the audio output ic's in the receiver and will need a professional to find out the extent of the problem.

Most likely, one of the channels is blown, or you having power supply issue. It is hard to determine exact cause of the problem with out looking at the unit.

Immediate shut

Unplug all the speaker wires first, then unplug the unit from the wall for at least 24 hours, The plug back in without the speaker wires or anything else plugged in. Then see if it goes to the protection mode. If it does not, plug in each speaker at a time, and see if any speaker, when hooked up, makes the receiver shut down. If it does shut down, My friend, I'm afraid you will need to take this unit into a repair shop, OR get a new unit. Good Luck

Yamaha Receiver RX-V630 not working (resets itself immediately)

This maybe an easy one. Have you unhooked all the wires going in to the stereo. "SP wires" means you have wires to the speakers are touching and the stereo is shutting down to avoid overloading. Hope this helps...
