Question about RCA Audio Players & Recorders
Here's the deal - there is a clock on the front that shows the time (of course), well the problem is when you notice the time on the clock has stop, although it is still lit, that means the whole system is locked up. The stereo will not respond to the remote, nor will ANY of the buttons on the stereo work. It just dies, except for the clock staying lit. The only way to make the system work again is to unplug it and plug it back in. This scenario can happen within a few days from first plugging it in or it may take a week or so and after it happens it WILL continue to happen.
The unit works fine except for this issue.
Please help. Thank you.

Yuo didnt mention if it was used or new,. If it was new I wouldnt mess with the unit and take it in under warranty, as there is no quicky fix for this one. Its going to turn out to be a problem with the disc motor servo circuit or the microprocessor. Good Luck

Sounds like a bad connection with the faceplate and the multi connector that the faceplate mates with when closed. check for dirt and bent pins on both connectors. Luck

SOURCE: Power light flashing/ no picture
I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.

SOURCE: projection display
To fix the projection display that is stuck with four 8's, hold down the hour and miute button at the same time. Keep the buttons pressed down while unplugging the power source then pluging it back it. I did this and the screen works like it did when I first got it.

I had the same problem with my Sony Dream machine of not being able to set the time after a power outage and finally figured out the sequence. Unplug power chord, plug in, then press the set time button holding until the 12 flashed, then up and down to the hour is set, then press the set time once, then the minutes flash , then set minutes, then press set time once. You seem to only get one chance for this, then if you make a mistake , you must unplug the chord and repeat the sequence. Why you cannot reset the time after setting it once, I have no idea. But I finally found at least a solution for my problem.
