Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
Hi: My usb ports on this machine are not working properly. When i plug a memory stick or a camera in it says that the device is not working properly. But these devices all work on other machines. I've been told to uninstall all the drivers in the device manager and then reinstall them but i'm not sure how to do this with the key-board. When i uninstall these usb ports will i not loose the use of my Mouse? How do i shut the computer down and reboot without a mouse?
Do i have to install a new driver for it to work properly? because every time i plug in memory sticks, flash drives with 1gig and higher capacity, i won't work... please help me, what will i do.

You may want to temporarily connect a PS2 mouse (and keyboard if you wish)
The PS2 connectors are round, a purple one for the keyboard and green for the mouse.
If you have the original Dell disks that came with the system, one will be a driver disk (don't accidentally re-install windows from the other disk).

A computer proffesion dosent need a mouse to wok on computer . the windows (logo) botton opens the strt menu . then scroll it with up and down arrows press enter to select . tab to switch between windows and drives . windows key+ e opens my computer . windows +d reduces windows
