Question about Biostar P4M800-M7A Motherboard
I have a biostar p4m800 pro-m7 motherboard with a pentium D 3ghz processor. My computer freezes when it is under a eavy load (especially playing the SIMS 2 game). I thought my computer was running a little hot so I installed a new heat sink and case fans and the temp hasnt gone over 45C. I had a radeon 9600 256mb graphic card and swapped it out for a geforce 6600 gt 128mb card. I formatted my hard drive and reloaded windows updated my bios, updated all drivers, running direct x 9c, and still have the same freezing problem. I upgraded my power supply to 550 watt. my next step is to try to replace my 1gb RAM. I am at a loss!
First of all you should know that even though pentium 4 isn't that old there are still some problems, for example the d processor uses sd-ram or ddr1 ram which are much slower that ddr2 and ddr3 "ddr1 isn't that slow" but if u're using SD-ram then u might wanna upgrade your rams a bit.
