Question about GE Profile JTP56 Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

Started with beeping, then F0 followed by F1, followed by oven not responding to cntl panel. Replaced oven control module, worked fine for about 1 week, then F1 again, and now just beeping. Oven is responding to panel and is working.

Hi,

F1 Error mean electronic control malfunctions. Usually if the symptoms stop with the touchpad disconnected from the clock, that touchpad is often the cause. If the error continues even with the touchpad disconnected, the clock itself is usually at fault and will need to be replaced to correct the problem. On some models it is not possible to disconnect the two in which case the electronic control/clock would have to be replaced regardless.

Hope this helps

FO error message. Oven light stuck on. No buttons work.

The F0 is a Function Key Stuck error - Replace touch pad or touch pad and control board if it is one assembly. Refer to F1 Test for more information.

How To Perform A F1 Touch Pad / ERC Test
This test is easy to perform and will help you determine whether the Electronic Range Control (ERC, control board) or touch pad is defective when the F1 code is displayed.

Note: With some models, the ERC and the touch pad are one single unit and therefore this test is not necessary. The entire assembly must be replaced.

Warning: If you have any doubts in your ability or safety of the repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect the power to the range by either unplugging the power cord, or turning the power off at the circuit breaker. Always make sure the power as been disconnected properly before beginning this test.
2. Access the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad ribbon from the ERC.
4. Reassemble the control panel. Make sure to check for any additional defects such as frayed or lose wires that could be causing the problem.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait up to an hour for the F1 code to reappear. This could be accompanied by an alert such as a beeping sound.
7. If the F1 code reappears, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

GE Profile Performance Spectra Range error code F0

F0 - F1 - F7 Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on. Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

F1 error/touch panel not working on GE Monogram Dual Oven

Usually, the F1 means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be canceled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

I recommend a service call for this repair.

My kenmore oven is beeping and will not stop. the display shows F-1.

Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacment of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal checksum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

That error means the main control board has a internal failure. The board will have to replaced to fix that issue. If you need detailed repair help with that visit the link below:

Double Oven says "F0" and beeps continuously

The fault code "F0" is indicating a possible stuck or shorted key pad or oven control board failure.
Determine if the problem is with the key panel or the oven control board by:
1. Pushing Clear/Off pad.
2. Disconnecting the Ribbon Cable Connector from the control board and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if the Code recurs.
If the code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.
If the code does not recur the problem is the Key panel and it would need replaced.
This test is normally done by an experienced service technician to avoid any possibility of getting shocked. This has to be done with voltage applied to the wall oven. Extreme caution should be exercised while testing.
I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your oven.

Error codes on my Dacor Range -

Both of those codes suggest a bad membrane switch assembly. i dont specifically remember what the f1 error is, but the f0 error is "stuck membrane button" The membrane switch is just the touch panel, and usually run in the mid $200 range for the part. Its fairly easy to change, just label all your wires when you pull em off so you know what direction they go in. some of the connectors CAN BE put on backwards, so just make a good diagram or whatever to get em right. Good luck!

My GE double oven is flashing F1 and beeping

The F1 error is similar to the F7 error and the fix may be similar. It indicates that the touchpanel needs to be replaced. The problem is really one where the insulation is breaking down between two sections of the ribbon cable which connects the touchpanel to the electronic control. I have solved the problem by placing slip of paper between the two secions of the ribbon cable. The slip of paper should be worked down into the slot. It will only go about 1/8". A piece of file card material works well. See attachec photo. If you have a metal touchpanel, you will also have to add slips of paper at the edges of the metal slot. __Be sure and turn off the power to the oven at your circuit breaker!____There are usually three small screws at the bottom of the touchpanel. The panel may need to be pushed upward to release it. Have a friend available to hold the panel while you work on it. Do not allow the panel to dangle by the wires.____Please let me know if this works for you or if you have any questions. You can reach me at hutchipop@yahoo.com. I have shared this solution with over 830 folks. Most report success.
