The (-) button on the monitor is deffective, you may send the monitor for repair by calling HP support OR you can try perssing the button for several times to release it, if it was stuck.

All the best.

Shrey

Sounds like one of the buttons on the monitor is sticking physically. Try:
  • checking the buttons for dirt that might be holding it in
  • cleaning the buttons with a soft brush

dirty switch. I took my 2009m apart and cleaned the switches with alcohol on a qtip and the problem's gone. Not too hard to do. Leverage the case gently with a putty knife or something and it will pop open. Then pop around the edge to remove the back completely.

First one and now 2 vertical lines on my HP f2105 monitor. Would this be the actual screen or a component that drives it? Thanks

Move the mouse cursor across the lines then check if it shows up fine. If it shows up fine, the problem is in the video card itself, not the monitor. It can be caused by VRAM or GPU overheating. Clean the video card thoroughly. Using a compressed air is a good alternative.

My volume menu from monitor pops up, volume auto-decreases

Was something spilled on the volume key? Sounds like it is stuck... you can use a fine toothpick and plain water to "scrub" around the key, there may be some buildup that inhitbits the key from "unpressing".

Hope this helps!

Volume pop up in the middle of my screen

no photos of said window presented? i cant see them?
must be OSD? the monitor brain on screen display (menu)?
even with the DVI cable pulled?
only a monitor stated, w1907, no PC
some monitors have button lock
read the manual ?oops HP deleted it...
it tells you to push the menu key on the monitor for 10 seconds
and it unlocks. (4 buttons right side left button is MENU)
doom?
that power deal sounds super bad, like the power supply is bad.
if the monitor fails by its self not plugged it to a PC
then the monitors is bad.
try a reset on it? ( power off for 1hr, or off then plug in with power button held? or power on with menu held (wild guesses but common practice)
ok found your manual page 4-8 shows menu page advanced
list line in list factory reset.
but if the keys are dead, and power lamp failing
the power supply is no good or worse. worse is always possible.
and expensive

ever see the support page, read the guides
?

its over 10 years old now. 2007?
walmart has larger one for $50
cheaper that parts or repair this.... vastly

Volume pop up in the middle of my screen

Sounds like one of the front panel buttons is stuck in - possibly the volume down button. If no buttons work, this could be the reason why. Just a guess. If they all feel OK, it may still be worth pulling the back off, (Without electricuting yourself -DISCONNECT POWER!) remove the PCB board that has the buttons on it, and see if it turns on without the menu. If so, check all buttons, rare but I have seen one that looked fine but with a multimeter it showed it wasnt working. If the screen still displays the menu, Id say there is a bigger problem... HTH
