Try Resetting the player. You have to push and hold a paper clip into the reset hole located near to the USB port, on one side of the player. Wait until the player restart.
If that does not fix the problem, then the unit is faulty and must be taken apart. The first test is done removing the battery and putting it back in place. The second thing to do is connecting the internal HDD to a computer to find out if the faulty part is the HDD or the electronic control.
This kind of devices are fixed at a phone repair shop or camera repair shop.
Try also calling Epson at the number listed on the owner manual and see what they have to say concerning the eventual repair or replacement.
