Envelope Icon Won't Go Away

Yesterday, the "new message" envelope icon appeared when I got a picture mail - and now it will NOT GO AWAY. I've deleted every single text message, voicemail, and picture mail I have, turned it on and off, and pulled the battery out and the envelope is still there. I've also gone to my voicemail options and clicked "clear envelope," but it says "no icon to clear."
Any other ideas? Thanks!

SOURCE: Flashing envelope icon

the flashing envelope indicates a text message, either you have an unread text, or your text memory is full, if you have no unread text, then it may be full, go into your texts and delete all the ones you do not need to keep as all phones are different, how you do this may be different to mine, but try going into text messages and pressing the options and select delete. hope this helps

I have the nokia 5800 xpressmusic which i have just got. in the top right hand corner there is a envelope flashing, when you click on it its says simcard memory full, i have all ready cleared the numbers...

If you've just put your SIM card in your Nokia 5800, you may have noticed a flashing envelope icon at the top of the screen.
This icon indicates that the SIM card's own text message storage is full. This doesn't actually cause problems on the 5800 because it stores its messages in the phone's own memory, but the envelope can look a bit annoying.
To get rid of the flashing envelope:

1. On the standby screen press the white menu button.

2. Select "Messaging"

3. Select "Options"

4. Select "SIM Messages"

5. Delete some or all of the messages from the SIM messages folder using the Options menu.

This should make the flashing envelope go away. You only have to do this once because when the SIM card is emptied it won't fill any more, as the 5800 does not store messages on SIM cards.

Envelope does not want to dissapear from my SE W760i phone

That envelope may be your email! Go start your email and see if you have any new ones, and see if the icon goes away. You can turn off email notification in the email application.
