It's a tight fit - I put my thumb on the spindle and pulled on each side of the platter - you could try a little machine oil on the spindle but don't keep it there.

How to remove Platter on JVC L-A120 Turntable

Hi Jeff...
The platter on the JVC LA-10 does not come off as most turntable platters do. It is attached to the spindle with a Philips head screw.

Here are the steps:
Remove dust cover from turntable. Unscrew hinges and lift.

  • Secure tonearm to prevent stylus damage.

  • Remove slipmat from platter.

  • Turn the turntable on its side and remove screws that hold the top to its base. Remove platter by unscrewing the bottom plate from the turntable. The spindle bearing is held in place with a Philips head screw. Loosen it and the platter will separate easily from the spindle.

  • Loop replacement band around the pulley cylinder in the motor. Replace platter and bottom plate. Tighten spindle screw. Test the new belt by turning the platter clockwise two or three rotations. Belt should fit snugly and turn with little resistance.

Why does the record keep jumping and slowing down when playing

You mean you have a wobble? Does the whole platter moves or is it your record. Your needle and arm etc. has nothing to do with the motor , so don,t bother watching your tonearm. what do you feel when you remove your platter(the thing where you put your records on) and move the the spindle shaft left right up and down , check that and i need more data, which turntable is the. most important, age, how often is it cleaned and lubricated inside. Cause i know think it's a direct driven turntable.if it's direct driven it's smart to oil the spindle a bit , after first cleaning it and then remove and replace the platter a couple of times, cause maybe ithe platter doesn't get deep enough, cause by dirt and aging and no lubrication. But ONLY when your turntable has a direct drive motor

Change belt on rotel 310 turntable

    To replace a drive belt.
Before starting unplug from mains power source.
1, Remove the rubber platter mat to expose the platter.
    2. Put your thumb and forefinger through the two round holes and lift the platter off. You may need to give the centre spindle a light tap (whilst applying upward pressure) with a screwdriver handle or some similar tool that will not leave any marks or damage.
    3. Remove the old belt and wipe the platter pulley and motor pulley with an alcohol swab to remove any old belt residue.
    4. Place the new belt around the platter pulley making sure t is sitting flat without any twists.
    5. Flip platter over the right way up. There are1or 2 larger rectangle shaped cut outs in the platter.
    6. Through the cut out pinch up the belt and slip a finger or belt hook between the platter pulley and the belt gripping the belt ready to fit over the motor pulley.
    7. Align the centre hole of the platter with the spindle and place platter back into position keeping a grip on the belt.
    8. Slip belt over motor pulley and give the platter a light clockwise rotation to ensure the belt is riding correctly.
    9. Replace the rubber mat and then run the turntable to ensure correct operation.

    Job done.

Rotel rp1000 turntable rplaying too slow, new belt

    HELLO

Check that your new belt is not too tight as this will slow the motor down as it tries to turn the platter. I would also suggest a little light oil (sewing machine oil is ideal - NOT WD40) on the motor spindle shaft where it goes through the motor itself it may be a little dry.

Clean off any gunk from the rim where the belt turns the platter and do the same on the pulley on the motor. Get some de-oxit (expensive but good) or SERVISOL to clean the speed change switch too.

    ALL THE BEST!

How do I attach the turntable belt to the Aiwa px e850

Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle. Place the section of the belt on your finger over the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.

Dont know how to put on the belt for my emerson turntable m-266oa

Merely take off the horseshoe clip from spindle(under rubber) and remove turntable. Put the belt around the circular raised area in the middle of the platter and reinstall platter over spindle. align one of the holes in the platter with the brass spindle and just pull belt around spindle. Good luck...

Your belt is probably worn and needs replacing. Lift felt on platter and and lift the platter section off the unit by putting your thumb and forefinger through the two large holes and pull upwards. There should not be any special routing for the belt and should go directly onto the spindle motor to your platter. Place the belt around the inside rim of the platter while it is still off the unit. Now replace the platter and move the platter around until you see the spindle motor through one of the holes. Use some tweezers to manouvre the belt onto the spindle motor. On some units you will have to lay the belt out inside the unit, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platter. Hope this helps

    1) Remove the platter - just lift up
    2) Underneath the platter, you'll see a small lip section
    3) Wrap the belt around this lip
    4) Put platter back on turntable
    5) Rotate platter until you see the motor shaft through the holes on the platter - a brass round looking piece
    6) Pinch the belt around the motor shaft.
    7) That's it.
