It turns on, stays on for about 10 seconds and then turns itself off. It says off for about 15 seconds and then comes back on only to go off again in about 10 seconds.

The lamp is the most likely problem, check that first. There is an lap door you open by taking out one screw and then inspect the lamp for a cloud near the stem of the bulb. If it is cloudy, most likely you lamp is going out. If the lamp is fine, the ballast is going to be the problem that is failing to sustain arch for the lamp.

Just replace the lamp. It will then work like new. It's very simple, taking just minutes.

The clock does not light. All other functions light.

Press the clock button..... Does the time show (at least for a little bit)? If so, then you probably have the Energy Saver function turned on. Here's how to turn that function off (and have your clock display the time all the time): Press and hold the Clock button. Hold it for 15 seconds. Somewhere around 7 to 10 seconds, the clock will display, then go out, then come back on again. By 15 seonds, the clock display should be on, and if you then let go of the clock button, it should stay on.

Magnavox television won't stay on

I know this is going to sound strange but I have something to check. If you have LED lights in your house turn them all off. When they are off turn on your TV and see if your TV stays on. Yes, there could be many problems but this one is cropping up quite a bit. If this does not work then you need to take a look at the power supply board.

LG TV Turns itself off

Sounds like it could be a poor connection in the power plug or a ' dry joint ' on the power board, if it's the latter, it will respond to light thumping at the side of the tv. If that's the case it needs resoldering by a technician..
good luck !

Shutting off and on...

the problem may be due to dry soldering in the power supply stage if it was with the lamp there would be red or green light showing the presence of the power to the tv after making it own some of the components get hot and it will make the the soldering point conectionless and after some time the heat sink get cooled and the soldering point gets connected and u will see the picture again it is a simple problem if u have a soldering iron u make it hot and re solder all the components in the first part of the circuit board and the problem if rectified
