Question about Brother MFC-8860DN All-In-One Laser Printer
My printer suddenly stopped pulling in paper correctly and, although it doesn't seemed to be jammed (the paper is partially fed in, and very easy to remove), something is clearly wrong. I don't know anything about printers, but perhaps there is a part that has fallen off?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

Does it make the same sound if you feed the single sheet through the bypass with the paper drawer removed? I hate to say it, but your printer's paper feed mechanism may need replaced. Go to http://www.brother-usa.com/AskUs/default.aspx and ask Brother to diagnose this one; I think they'll confer with me and should be able to point you to a nearby Brother-authorized repair center. Let me know what happens!

SOURCE: paper jam in brother MFC 240C
Usually small pieces of paper are jammed at the print head area. Lift up the scanner and see if you can find the paper at the print head parking area, clear the paper . If you can't find the paper, remove the scanner cables, then the scanner. You will see 2 screws at the rear and one near the USB connection. Another 3 screws towards the front will remove the front panel. Under the panel remove 4 screws and the two panel harnesses. The is a speaker harness which you must remember to attach back later (most people don't remember to put back). Lift up the top cover and you can see the whole engine. Clear any pieces of paper that might be there.
