Re: schematic

Sounds like the motor has gone bad. But you need to go to, click on the part link, put in your complete model number, usually starts with 116.************. Then a parts list will come up and if what you need is there, you can order it thru Sears. Sometimes underneath the rear top cover, is a schematic

I have a sharp twin energy, the hose isn't sucking very well, and just today it had a burnt plastic smell

This sounds like something is plugging the air flow. You need to take apart until you find it. Air flow also cools your unit.

Not sucking - not self-propelled.

Problem 1: it could be the transmission causing it not to be self propelled.
Problem 2: Have you checked for clogs in the system?

Vacuum will not pick up, the dirt just lays inthe bottom of the hose and does not get sucked up,i looked for aclog but there isn,t one

Are the filters clean? Is the brush roll turning? Otherwise check the dirt inlet by the brush roll for a clog. Pull the hose off from the bottom, is there suction there? If there is, then the problem is below where the hose is pullged into. If no suction, then there is a clog in the hose, take it off, (if it comes off completely), drop something like a heavy marble down the hose and see if it comes out or not.

Hi, I have a Dyson DC05 and initially it sucks up ok then stops. On investigation the dust particles are ending up in the pre-motor filter instead of the canister.
I have checked for blockages, and cleaned filters. Any ideas????

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Something is blocking the path of the dirt to the canister and it should not be going directly to the motor filter (diverter valve) that is supposed to be a backup just in case. So that the motor does not burn up, please check with you local vacuum cleaner dealer for a schematic or a product breakdown.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Dirt devil mvp not sucking

Could be bad filters, is there suction at the end of the hose. That will tell you which direction to start looking. If no suction at hose end, then filters could be the problem. If you have suction, then the problem is down lower, dirt inlet is clogged, if belt has never been changed, then I am sure it has stretch to the point that under load it doesn't turn like it should. Could even be that although the motor is running, it may be running at a slower speed, in which case it would have to be replaced.
