Question about Computers & Internet
4GB USB stick will not reformat, how do I cancel ''write protect''? No physical switch.
The stick shows as ''write protected'' when I try to delete files or reformat.
If no physical switch, then check the software that came with. Some sticks have a software component that recognizes when you plug the stick in and gives you options for viewing and launching applications from the stick. There may be controls you can use to change the write protect.
If not, or you can also try, opening a view to the stick from Windows Explorer and just delete files from there as you would from any drive. Windows will prompt you to confirm delete. I wouldn't delete any auto-load or setup apps that would be used to connect to another computer.
