How long have you had that and where did you get it from?

Some places just exchange the product (Best Buy, Walmart, etc) by taking the product and showing the receipt.

I also found this on their website, good luck on your laser hunt!

I have one bundle of Verbatim blank DVD's with printable surface. When I tried to recode it says " insert blank DVD " or it is ejecting automatically. I tried in different writers with new blank disc ,...

this may sound strange but what is the rom's you are trying to use them on as some rom's will not take 8x recording or R - or + and it will say there is no disk and ejecting the disc. and dvd disc only work with dvd drives designed for instant record. most models take data/dvd disc as it can be formated in both formats to record but dvd is just one setting that most dont have.

I need to foremate disks

Blank Discs are normally sold formatted. And you can not format a DVD-R. If it is a blank DVD-RW then insert it into your DVD drive, go to my computer, right click on your DVD drive and click format.

How do you format a cd

For windows 7:
1.Insert a disc into your computer's CD or DVD drive.
2.In the dialog box that appears, click Burn files to disc.
3.In the Burn a disc dialog box, type a name for your new disc.
4.Click Show formatting options, and then click one of the following formatting options:
-Live File System

-Mastered

5.Click Next to prepare the disc.

and for CD-RW:

1 Insert a disc into your recorder drive.

2 In My Computer, right-click your recorder drive.
The 'Use with DLA' option in the popup menu should have a check mark beside it. If this option is not selected, click on the HELP button and follow the steps in "Using DLA With Your Recorder Drive" before proceeding.

3 Click Format.
DLA's Format dialog box appears. The options available to you will depend on the type of recorder drive you have.

4 Set the options in the Format dialog box.
a ) Type a name for your disc in the Volume label text box.
b ) Select either Quick or Full Format by clicking beside the option you prefer. DLA can perform either a Quick or Full format of your discs.
c ) If you have an EasyWrite CD-RW drive, you will have the option to create an EasyWrite disc by placing a check mark beside Enable EasyWrite. (See Using DLA with EasyWrite Drives for more information.)

5 Click Start.
If you selected Quick Format or you selected Full Format and your drive supports background formatting, you will be able to use your disc within minutes. If not, you must wait until formatting is complete before you can write files to your disc.

I hope this will help you

Vista Windows won't format DVD

CDs and DVDs don't need to be formatted, unless you're using a DVDRW (Rewritable) and want to erase what's on it. Regular CDs and DVDs are single-write onl, and don't need to be formatted before burning.

Disc error message when load DVD

Are you loading to play or to record?
Commercial DVDs should play.
DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.

Says blank DVD-RW is not formatted, then formats -- then error

I have same TOSHIBA D-VR4XSU VCR/DVD RECORDER. According to the
manual, you (COULD) can use for recording: DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD-R (see page 50). WRONG!!! I bought all 3 types of discs, but after few
weeks I got same experience you got now. Just type DVD-R works. The other
types were - wasted money and a lot of time trying to finalize the disc. I had to
throw all into the garbage. Try DVD-R and you should?? be O.K.

Can anybody help me, I purchased a Samsung dvd recorder model dvdvr350m, since purchasing the unit it will not recognize that it has recordable dvd's in it (dvd-rw),it tells me no disc inserted please...

Did the sales guy use the same DVD-RW that you did? Maybe the brand you are using is not of good quality and can not be recognized by the recorder. If he did not use the same disc did you notice if he used DVD-RW or DVD+RW? Some DVD-Recorders only recognize one or the other but this is kind of rare these days. I recommend verbatim brand discs. They should be available for sale at any shop. If you want the ultimate in quality DVDs then go with Taiyo Yuden. This Japanese brand invented recordable media and in addition to that they are obsessed with quality. www.supermediastore.com is always where I get my discs.
