Vent hose is too short

I have recently purchased a new home. While setting up my whirlpool dryer, I discovered that it is farther than 8ft from the outside vent. the "standard" vent hose is only 8ft and will not reach. Is it okay to connect (2) vent hoses together? Are there any other options available? Please Advise as soon as possible.

Yes, you can connect two vent hoses together, but only use as much hose as you need.
Cut the second hose to what ever length you need to get to the vent so that there is not too much unused hose in the vent system.
Every now and then remove the two hoses and check for lint build-up.
In a longer hose it will build more rapidly than in a short hose system
Good luck,
I hope this helps

Yes you can connect 2 together, obtain 1 longer hose or use a fixed rigid pipe suitable for hot water etc - similar to drain pipe. All these shouled be readily available from your local plumbing supplies store.

My whirlpool dryer lgr6620pqo doesnt dry clothes enough already replaced cycling thermostsat seemed to work now still not drying enough

Clean/Replace your dryer vent hose; also, make sure it is as taunt and short as possible. Any extra loops or turns prevents proper air flow (moisture) from leaving the dryer and being vented outside.
Also, check your outside dryer vent; sometimes critters make a home in the warm vent.
Hope this helps...

John, unfortunately, you don't have many options, short of putting a hole in an exterior wall and putting an exhaust pipe with a cap (like a dryer vent has) and connecting the exhaust hose to it. OR if you have a clothes dryer in your condo and it's vented to the outside. You could temporarily disconnect the dryer's vent hose and connect the A/C's vent hose to the the dryer's outside vent.

Either way, it may be to much of a hassle . But, I'll let you decide that. I guess it will all depend on how hot your condo gets without A/C.

Let me know how it works out for you. Thanks.

Check the vent cap on the outside of your home to see what the air flow is like when the machine is on. It should be forceful enough to blow your haire back if you were to put your face in front of it. Make sure the vent hose behind the dryer is as short as possible and is not pinched or coiled. This definitely sounds like an air flow issue.
