SOURCE: bobbin rewind problems
Either the winder rubber is worn down one side, or the spindle has seized, take the top off and check and see if you can turn the winder by hand, if not then it has seized and the only way to free it is to put a couple of drops of WD40 on the spindle, put an electric drill on the end of the spindle and start the drill very slowly.

If the bobbin is in the casing correctly then follow these steps...spin your wheel toward you until the threaded needle drops a thread around the bobbin casing it will slide down around the casing from center to the right and down. one the thread is just over half way around gentle pull the tail of your thread from the needle. It should move up and to the left collecting the thread from the bobbin casing. and a loop will arise below your presser foot (which should be up).pull that loop up until the tail of the bobbin is visable. Now you are ready to sew.
