If it sparks when plugged in that means the main fuse in the tv is not blown. If there was sorting wrong with the tv and you saw sparks the fuse should blow. If the fuse blew you will not see sparks anymore and the set will not come on. But if the fuse did not blow one of the following can be the cause.

1. A short in the line cord, check you plug and wire to make sure there are no breaks in the wire.
2. Sparking can be from a bad outlet, a plug that is not making good connection can cause sparking, try plugging in to another outlet if it still sparks check the prongs and make sure they are not blackened.

Plug in no power

Check the fuse inside the TV. If fuse blows, there is a problem elsewhere.

The initial spark you are mentioning is due to degaussing coil. This is not routed through fuse.

Have TV Card but when try to connect to outside atanna with amp get a spark. turn off amp & no spark when connect. Is it save to connect with amp off & then turn amp on. Have no signal without amp.

Plug the aerial directly into the TV card. I assume you mean by amp you mean an amplified aerial. The spark would suggest an electrical short maybe an earthing problem.

Proscan 36 inch tv

Good day.

The spark the you see means that your wall socket is loose. Have it fixed by a qualified technician. With regards to your unit, it has an internal problem. In my experience, the power supply is not dissipating power to the circuitry. The problem is contained in the power supply, have it checked by a technician.

When trying to turn on my tv it automatically shuts off. when i unplug it and plug it back in, it will give off a spark before going all the way into a plug. what is happening to my tv?

TV's have a circuit that monitors the high voltage and shuts down the set if it senses something amiss.
On CRT types, figure on replacing the flyback transformer.
Most TV power supplies use a large capacitor on the power input circuit that instantlly charges when plugged in and thus draws a noticable spark. This is normal.
Hope ya fix it!

27 inch Panasonic TAU tv won't turn on, then sparks when you unplug and replug it in

You first need to rplace the outlet if it sparks where the surge protector is plugged in as it should not spark for any reason. then you need to make sure thast its not the outlet causing your problem by running an long extensition corn or moving the set to a differant outlet.
